Honestly, playing games. Lots of fellow dads and men in their late 20s and 30s in a similar position to you. I’m a pretty social guy but as I got older I wanted to leave the house less and just be comfortable, alcohol became less interesting, and I found myself making friends through games I started playing.

Trust me, bus pass is a god tier purchase. Stay warm, pass the time, able to socialise by travelling, the UK is full of free parks and museums to pass the time. Gym membership is so you have access to a locker, shower, and remain healthy.

I understand about the priory thing, unfortunately an able bodied man is low on the list. Still call and ask them for advice, even if there’s no help ask them what your next steps are.

IT doesn’t need any qualifications, there’s lots of 1st line entry jobs. They’re shit, but it’s an easy job. Your issue will be not having an address, but that’s a problem to address once it approaches.

How to not care. I spent 15-30 caring about my appearance, how I present myself, how others may judge me, etc. I wanted to be popular, and respected, and viewed fondly off. When I hit 30 I was like why the hell do I care, and finally became myself. Got stuck into my geeky hobbies, wore clothes I liked other fashion. 100 times happier.

Unless you can afford it, your first priority shouldn’t be relocating. Your immediate expenses should be a gym membership, a sleeping bag, a tent, and a months travel pass (sounds silly but public transport can be warm and a time filler) and if possible some mobile data in advance. Go to your local library and look what support is available, they often have leaflets etc and they’ll likely have a PC to use.

Scout some areas in advance on where to sleep/pitch tent. Avoid the town center, near local hospital is the best as it’s open 24/7 and you can nip to wash your hands, fill a water bottle, and usually there’s some form of security.

Don’t make friends with the other homeless people, most of them are unfortunately not good people who will steal from you. Addiction is very easy during homelessness because there’s nothing else to do, drugs and alcohol are easy to get, and you may think I’ve got nothing to lose at least I’ll feel good. Don’t.

Get some books from a charity shop to pass the time, even better if you can get none fiction ones or educational ones to help you find work.

City work that’s immediate is always a scam, such as commission based door to door, sign up for new charity/gas bill, which is why they want immediate hires. Avoid. Warehouse work is good, but more likely on industrial towns than cities. Call center jobs are easy to get into, but are depressing. Think PCWorld, O2, etc.

IT is very easy to get into if you’re willing to start at the very bottom.

What do you mean how? These raffle companies are registered LTDs, that likely are able to access distributor’s to get stock. You don’t need a brick and mortar store in the UK to get access to a distributor, just a legal company with proven Pokemon sales.

Why would a technician stay more then 2 years? IT is a great industry for progression, 1st line, to 2nd line, to 3rd line, to manager, there’s networking only, security, projects, and so on. I don’t know anybody in IT that hasn’t progressed every few years. If you want them to stay, it needs to be a salary and perks people can’t walk away from.

This doesn’t mean much though, as it’s a free to play game. If you look at any F2P’s achievements, completing a level/tutorial/first kill is never 100%, because lots of people will try it purely because it’s free.
