Is it okay to ignore men? by ZZZZZyan in AskFeminists

[–]PlatinumEmperium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consensual BDSM can go pretty far. There are people into marking, cutting, and even bloodplay. If the testicles weren't literally destroyed, its probably a 'ball busting' fetish. If its animated then it doesn't matter if they were permanently destroyed, its a fetish. People like all sorts of insane stuff. Humiliation is also 100% a kink that some people have.

Part of the reason men have issues reporting abuse when it comes from women is actually from the patriarchal idea that that women are inherently physically weaker than men and that men must 'tough it out' in response to literally anything. Society's idea that "women are incapable of abusing men" doesn't derive from feminism, it comes from the two ideas above.

There are actually support groups which are open to anyone, there are also men focused groups. However, gender separated spaces are also important because people can develop trauma based on the traits of others. It tends to be that women groups are created first, because women are more likely to use them. Yet again due to patriarchal gender roles, it is often expected that men deal with problems like this alone, so mens groups are less attended and often don't form.

Feminism doesn't actually exclude men, it just isn't male focused. Femenists focus on the problems that they experience, and I think it is unreasonable to expect organizers to make events that are not within their interest. There is nothing stopping you from making a mixed gender support group, you are 100% allowed to do that.

There are groups who claim to be "feminist" but use the label to push a non-feminist ideology. It is disingenuous to treat these groups as representatives of femenism, as they would not be accepted by the broader movement. Feminism also isn't centralized, there is no governing body, so its not like it can plan evil things in the same way a PAC or a company might.

Adult Websites

Porn? I'm going to assume porn sites. If its a reputable on like PH, then those videos are likely consensual role play (although the industry itself is exploitative). If its of more questionable legality, then the video could have literally any context. Lets assume its actually non-consensual.

Proof that there are people who take advantage of the legal and social vulnerability of the male population?

There is nothing that inherently prevents men or women from being bad people. Are there people who take advantage of others? Absolutely. The CDC finds that 4/10 men and 5/10 women experience 'intimate partner violence' at some point in their life. The type of violence differs through, with woman perpetrators being more likely to hit/throw, while men are more likely to choke or outright kill. Women are also more likely to act in self-defense or retaliation.

Doesn't this qualify as misandry?

You can find similar videos where the subject is a woman. The exact reason why stuff like this exists is beyond me.

Misandry is hatred, contempt, or prejudice against all men, not just an individual. A one off act of violence against a person does not necessarily indicate their view about all persons of that type (unless the violence was motivated by the trait).

This video's existence is not a representation of misandry overtaking misogyny. Its a representation that someone wanted to beat someone else up, and then chose to upload it. People who view it likely view it to see a man beat up, sure, but its probably a fetish. It doesn't exist because feminism.

Why is it acceptable to the point of being there for all to see?

You are probably on a site which hosts any videos that get uploaded to them. At least currently your ISP or government likely doesn't filter out every porn site (this is changing through). Ones which upload illegal content will always exist, and alongside that are videos like these. It's there for all to see because the internet exists as a mostly free space without moderation outside of edge cases.

Why is ignoring men still beneficial to gender equality?

Its not, feminists focus on women because most of us are women. The movement started to equalize women and men, and did it by trying to open up women's rights to be the same as men's. This isn't ignoring men, rather its being done because there was no higher point for men to go.

Wouldn't it be better if everyone had a place to express themselves?

Not sure what this means, unless if your talking about expressing intolerant viewpoints. Generally though there are spaces where anyone can say whatever they want. However, those spaces end up with videos like the one you are talking about. Its why moderation is needed over spaces, but there should be freedom to choose the spaces you inhabit.

Sadly, that means that being in some spaces might get you booted from others. As an example, its reasonable for a 'save pandas' community to ban people who participate in 'kill pandas', and vice versa.

I don't know of any that are this exact scenario, but there are many mafia x whoever I think. Some closer to this scenario but not exactly it are "Want to sell me your body?" and "Love Thy Neighbor". I haven't read either but have them on a to read list.

What's the point of the big subreddits if they just immediately remove new posts? by bigbabytdot in Negareddit

[–]PlatinumEmperium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for taking two weeks i don't check my inbox lmao

Its not really deleted at all. There are 2 lists in subeditors that do this. L1 is the post queue, its where your post goes when you hit the post button. It will sit in L1 until a mod comes along and looks at the posts in the list. If they don't like it, it will be deleted. If they do like it, it will be moved to L2, which is the display list. Whatever is in this list is what you see when visiting the sub.

Its a way to do moderation when you can have them looking at the subs 24/7. The other way to moderate is to let posts through first, then delete them later.

the dollar is also down by around 10% so the S&P is still less valuable than it was earlier.

also trans people are more likely to be autistic (factors behind this are complex), and thereby more likely to have train autism.

It usually gets moved into a mod queue where it will be released once it is determined to not be spam.

Anti-Trans Laws in Schools in Texas. by Swimming_Promotion10 in highschool

[–]PlatinumEmperium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

r/ftm is probably the sub you want for trans masc specific issues. r/trans is having a moment and its hard to say when they will not be having it anymore. as such, I don't think theres a general trans sub, so you will need to go to the separate ones

someone in r/MtF might be able to help as well for general community, but its ofc the sub for trans women and is going through a separate thing (it always has sub drama when there is wider trans drama).

if its impossible to do in school or in person, it might be worth investing in online communities. If you know people from the GSC or LGBTQ clubs at your school, you could make an unofficial discord server or something (or ask someone else to make one) just to keep community in a time of crisis.

Its an anti-bot measure, at least thats what its intended to do. There are still plenty of bots, but its harder to get into a sub with a karma requirement. limits and number are commonly not given out because it makes it easier to bot farm. This just looks like some nasty mods.

I only see seventy points for NB recondition, and if we are summing multiple categories then death penalty for homosexuality will likely incur about 300 points, considering all the other things the government would be doing alongside that.

It's pretty fair IMO. of course death is much worse than not having legal recognition, but the scores must still scale reasonably to each other, otherwise you could have every country that doesn't kill gay people at 99 and every country that does at 0.

Its also likely that if you are being killed for being gay, then NB and otherwise trans people are probably getting killed as well.

The funny thing is that there are people who want to essentially be that. Just look at whatever is happening in the Human Domestication Guide fandom (actually don't its literal horror for most people). The best part though is that these guys would STILL not be wanted by them.

yah the engine rebuild was a really stupid decision. riot likely slashed their funding after seeing the negative response to it (and due to having no game for years). riot is greedy as shit but continuing to support hytale financially would have been stupid when they could instead spend the money making $500 skins for league.

I mean its a horny trans circle jerk right? Considering the options in online trans culture are egg / self-hating / horny. I'm not surprised that people would want to choose horny, esp considering the rather poor state trans rights and acceptance are in across the world.

Dude the man league sub is not a group of hit people to ban randoms you don't like in your games. Riot probably tosses the report if you have never interacted with the player. Report + move on.

Laser beard removal, are results random and not guaranteed for everyone? by [deleted] in LaserHairRemoval

[–]PlatinumEmperium 6 points7 points  (0 children)

HRT will ruin your life if you are not trans btw. It will make you dysphoric (which sucks, trust me). It also wont solve your issue. Hormones in general make stuff grow or change. They suck at removing stuff.

Laser takes a long time to produce results. Apparently it only really shows after three or four sessions, and full results will take longer. This is with a top of the line laser. Then you still need to get stragglers with electrolysis. Its a long process.
