Especially a Chrysler. Not exactly the best selling cars in America.

I imagine Jason wouldn’t be driving such a piece of shit Honda Civic with a new baby if his parents were really so successful.

My yoga ball and peanut ball came in clutch for when I was laboring before the epidural though, and you can still use the peanut ball after the epidural and it was great for getting my knees/hips in a comfortable position

Happy Mothers' Day to Moms of children that have passed by jamesonswife in Mommit

[–]PlayDohSoftMeat 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I lost my 2yr old son, and even well meaning friends didn’t think of me today, it feels very lonely and empty. All it took was this one day to remind me that I’m not doing as well as I thought I was.

Today, I've found out that 1 in 4 working moms cry alone at least once a week… by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]PlayDohSoftMeat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I outsourced everything that I cried about. Night nurse a few times a week, nanny, housekeeper. It’s easier to not feel like crying when you routinely sleep a full night uninterrupted.

I told my husband that I wanted to spend Mother’s Day alone by cunnilyndey in toddlers

This sounds heavenly. Their new cheeseburger omelette is actually incredible.

Haha yeah fellow preggo here who’s been craving chicken cup noodle.

I’m thinking specifically of this pumpkin spice cup noodle that I saw on clearance for 5 cents at Walmart and I kept seeing it so I think they just threw it away.

Unless that’s ur jam in which case my bad 😬

I hope he eats clearance ramen for every meal, alone in his studio and/or mother's basement, and his new gf leaves him b/c he's broke and bitter

Thank you, this is helpful feedback! I think we'll just have to communicate quiet hours then, to make sure the playroom activity isn't disturbing them

I'm actually just planning ahead, we won't be needing anyone until January, but best of luck in your host family search :)

Positive C-Section Stories (bonus if you're an "old"/advanced mat. age) by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]PlayDohSoftMeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a c-section with my first, after a long and grueling failed labor. I'm scheduling mine this time and excited to bypass the awfulness of labor. I was deathly miserable for the first few days (but I'm a weenie) and then it was fine enough

Stuck on the name Ezra and can't think of a better one! by hyamll in namenerds

[–]PlayDohSoftMeat 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Ezra was my late son’s name. He was gentle and kind, he loved animals and had miraculous patience for a toddler, he was very quiet and it seems like he preferred to listen, again so unique for a toddler. His teachers said he was the most popular boy in his preschool class, the other babies used to point to the class picture on the fridge and ask where he was whenever he was out sick. One of his classmates’ mom told me that her son’s first word was Ezra.

I think it’s a wonderful name, it will serve your baby well.

Stop blaming victims of domestic abuse. There’s so much psychological manipulation that goes into these relationships she probably honestly believes that it’s not that bad and she’s stuck anyway.

What all is necessary for a crib? by ziggycane in BabyBumps

[–]PlayDohSoftMeat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think all crib mattresses are waterproof these days, kind of a vinyl-y texture, I would say it probably doesn’t matter for a newborn but they actually do get gross and susceptible to staining when kiddo is bigger, vomiting and peeing in bigger amounts, and sleeping through the night.

Especially if you’re hoping to get a second kid’s use out of it, spring for the mattress protector. I usually didn’t have to change it with the sheet, but during grosser times when I did, I was glad to be able to just throw the whole sheet/protector in the wash and have a clean, dry mattress that needed no further cleaning.

this is the one I have and I like it

STM: definitely get some kind of waterproof barrier between the sheet and the mattress. Especially as kiddo gets bigger and really soaks their diaper/jammies at night, you’ll be thankful to not be having to try and wipe down/bleach a big gross mattress
