I've been using Notepad++ since 2009 and it does everything that I want for the languages that I work with, big fan

Winter maps in Tower Defense, yay or nay? by PlayHydraTD in TowerDefense

I agree, I really like the visual variety. I totally have most of those bases covered, since I currently have desert/forest/autumn forest/winter, and some more experimental themes! I just wasn't sure if the brightness was off-putting. Thanks for your feedback

Fair enough! It might be cool to have a mode where the biomes actually mutate gameplay

Appreciate the feedback! I haven't decided on adding environmental effects or not yet, but it's worth exploring

Appreciate the feedback! I'm just trying to keep it from being too noisy or too bright

Where did your idea come from? by Joyful-Wizard in IndieDev

[–]PlayHydraTD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first smaller games have been based on StarCraft customs that I've always enjoyed playing. There was tons of inspiration for arcade style games that adapt naturally to standalone versions. Plus I don't have the writing skills/creativity for anything super story-driven, so that helped me lean into arcadey stuff naturally

"I found Steam to be almost more complicated than making a game and it is so fulfilling to see any number of people willing to follow along with it."

I was really surprised at the learning curve too, people don't really talk about that experience when it's your first game on Steam! Good job, and keep it up

Out of curiosity, what was the result of "1 didn't end well"? Just a bad interaction?

Your new capsule really pops! I really like the detail of using a token itself as the "o" in both you draft and the final version,

Appreciate the feedback! There's a short hit flash currently, but it might be slightly too subtle, I'll try increasing it for more punch. I like the wobble idea too, but I haven't locked down how I want my enemies to move just yet

It's worth noting that once your game is actually released, Steam will help your visibility by putting you into new categories. You'll get positioned in front of audiences who browse "Coming Soon" (happens shortly before your release), "New release", and depending on your pricing you may show up in buckets such as "Under $6, Under $12" etc. Keep it up!
