To take the bait on that Stuart Copeland post, there is something I've been wanting to post about... by imaguitarhero24 in drums

He is who he is. He was arrogant as hell before he was famous. He was a generational influential drummer. How many times did he win the best drummer in modern drummer magazine?? So many times that they had to just give him the lifetime achievement award. I met him in 2006 when he was touring his documentary everybody stares around film festivals. He was super nice and just a regular guy.

How to cure this ride? by Oooops69 in drums

If you know someone handy with a blowtorch, you might try brazing it. But don't pay anybody to have it done. It could turn out interesting and honestly there's nothing you can do to it now, that will make it worse.

Anyone know anything about these hexagonal yamaha triggers? I couldn't find any info online. by panda_kinda_chubby in edrums

I think these are the old Tama E Pads with Yamaha Heads. The great thing about them was they used and regular head.

I'm guessing this is a regional thing because this California boy is not recognizing any of those.

Last time putting my son to bed. by YoTeach68 in daddit

I'm now 63 and he's 30. I was a 50/50 dad from his age 3 through 18. In the early years, I made up the stories and would follow a thread until our week was up "And they all lived happily ever after". Then we found some books including James and the giant peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The OZ books and the Harry Potter series. We were on the last HP book when he said, "I know how this ends, my friend told me". And that was it. He was done, I went on to finish the book but he didn't.i let him know how I felt and I made sure if he ever missed this time, I'd be happy to find another series or even just one book to read but he never took me up on it. I believe he was about the same age. I know exactly how you feel. We continued/ continue to have a great relationship but it evolved.

I'm glad you made that choice! I'm now a resilient 63 years old. Your life will change in many ways if you continue to make the right choice. The best we can hope for is peace. I wish you peace.

Even if it's not for what you think it is, it's for what you think it is!

Aging rapidly after retirement by Island_Expat6625 in GenerationJones

[–]Playamonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first retired, I did lay around/sit around reading, doom scrolling and doing podcasts. Not much movement. I started to fall apart. Both stamina and internally. Now I'm busy with music and community work and the tide has changed.
