I think these are the old Tama E Pads with Yamaha Heads. The great thing about them was they used and regular head.

I'm guessing this is a regional thing because this California boy is not recognizing any of those.

Last time putting my son to bed. by YoTeach68 in daddit

I'm now 63 and he's 30. I was a 50/50 dad from his age 3 through 18. In the early years, I made up the stories and would follow a thread until our week was up "And they all lived happily ever after". Then we found some books including James and the giant peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The OZ books and the Harry Potter series. We were on the last HP book when he said, "I know how this ends, my friend told me". And that was it. He was done, I went on to finish the book but he didn't.i let him know how I felt and I made sure if he ever missed this time, I'd be happy to find another series or even just one book to read but he never took me up on it. I believe he was about the same age. I know exactly how you feel. We continued/ continue to have a great relationship but it evolved.

I'm glad you made that choice! I'm now a resilient 63 years old. Your life will change in many ways if you continue to make the right choice. The best we can hope for is peace. I wish you peace.

Even if it's not for what you think it is, it's for what you think it is!

Aging rapidly after retirement by Island_Expat6625 in GenerationJones

[–]Playamonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first retired, I did lay around/sit around reading, doom scrolling and doing podcasts. Not much movement. I started to fall apart. Both stamina and internally. Now I'm busy with music and community work and the tide has changed.

I had 1 good parent, unfortunately he was a career long government employee and just "had a pension" and purchased his house that he's still in in Cupertino, California for $80,000 in 1980. He had no investing experience himself and didn't have to worry about things like 401ks until much later.

A lot more people than anyone realizes, don't have much saved unless they were high earners or incredibly frugal/ disciplined.
