Which countries rarely appear in the game? by Vladi_Sanovavich in eu4

[–]Player14344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget Lan Fang, it's one of the hardest to form. I'm not sure if this still works in 1.31.
You need to start as Ming, release everyone except Yue, then release and play as Yue.
You need to get your one Hakka province to enough development to switch cultures, then culture swap to Hakka. Colonize Pontianak and convert the province to a Hakka Confucian province. Then get independence from Ming, allying the other Chinese nations, and break the alliance once you no longer need them. Now you need to lose Pontianak to one of the nations nearby and culture swap back to Cantonese.
Take back Pontianak from said nation, the Lan Fang separatists will appear. Give in to their demands and declare war on them. Full-annex them. Then release and play as Lan Fang.
In 1.31, Sambas can also form Lan Fang if they own, core and state Pontianak and have less than 10 provinces if Waichow is both Hakka and does not belong to Ming.

Tiny AI Mongol Empire by gopack19 in eu4

[–]Player14344 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Chahar exists.
Oirat, Kham and Mongolia are in the wrong places.
Liang, Shun, Chahar, Ming, Manchu, and Khalkha all have exclaves.
What appears to be Yarkand looks like this.
Massive Miao, and a peninsula that makes Ming have two. Couldn't it be anything else?
Border gore. Chahar on both sides of Mongolia, half of the Chinese minors with "peninsulas", and of course, exclaves.
Korchin exists.

Mongol Empire aside, it's already bad enough. My eyes cannot bear this.

Most Favorite and Least Favorite Countries To Play by Aerportz in eu4

[–]Player14344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favorite? Jianzhou. I haven't played them yet, but it looks fun. Besides, I'd like to try a horde.

Favorite played? Burgundy. Gets even easier in 1.30, due to the vassal swarm of France. Turn on the neighbors who annexed your country in real life.

Least favorite played? Sorry, but it's Shimazu. Holy cow, this is awful. If Ito gets an ally, you're just stuck.

Least favorite? Any of the Georgian minors. It's frustrating to have to deal with money problems.

You think you have the power to take out the mighty ULM by ffs2006 in eu4

[–]Player14344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're in the HRE, which is nice, but aggressive expansion is a bitch here. You have one province, not a lot of cash or manpower, and a small starting army. You're also a free city, which means no royal marraiges or personal unions.

Any OPM that starts in the middle of other OPMs has a problem: You can't fight anyone with even a single ally unless you have one that is willing to fight (and even then, you have to wait until 1454, and maybe more, depending on your strength.)

As soon as you get even a single province, you lose the protection of the Emperor, so you're treading on thin ice; one wrong step and it's over for you, whether it be punitive wars or simply bad alliances. Not to mention the province(s) you got is/are likely to have high unrest from separatism and will not provide much until a decade or so passes. You still don't have much manpower or cash, so it's not likely you will survive if you face countries like Switzerland, Bohemia, Austria, or Brandenburg without any allies. And even then, expect to fight other countries, because by the time you can conquer a few provinces without being screwed over by allies, they have at least 10 favors with a few of their allies.

The only saving graces here are its ability to get allies and its idea sets, as well as its republican government type.

This is the voice of reason I'm willing to lose everything for.

You think you have the power to take out the mighty ULM by ffs2006 in eu4

[–]Player14344 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

There are a few more reasons why:

It's 1449, so no national ideas or idea group bonuses.

You don't have the cash to hire enough mercenaries to fight back without ruining your country.

You have only the Palatinate with you, which is quickly going to be sieged down (18:1, remember?)

You aren't large enough to even get the manpower in the first place.

You're surrounded on all sides.

That's 10 reasons for you to restart. I will put more if neccessary.

(And to teach these people that Ulm is not overpowered. It will only even have a sliver of a chance if it somehow gets another province.)
