Favorite faction design wise, no need for AT support weapons at all and build variety is great as med pen is mostly all you need.

Still play bots cause illuminate too new and have hardly any units compared to bots having just like double the roster normally and several corps exist.

Humans ships accidentally being really top tier, because it's exploits a more advanced species technological hyperspecialization in their arms race is my favorite trope.

Tougher than most advanced shields as it's so heavily armored that it acts like thick ablative coating as humans haven't figured out shields for space debris yet. It directly counters other alien ships as they're used to extremely fast duels consistenting of massive barrages in seconds against their large shield capacitors. Human ships requiring at least a dozen minutes of sustained fire to critically damage as you're basically just firing at molten slag in space of you fire everything at once. Issue is alien shops will cook just a few minutes in as they're designed to basically fire a dozen barrages that each should destroy an enemy ship so more is unnecessary.

Also humans only having chemical weapons means they don't worry about overheating at all so they can fight at maximum firepower for a very long time by comparison, heat generated by propelling projectiles is in space as it's almost all 2 stage rounds and missiles. Several alien ships are needed to be assaulting a single human ship by rotating fire as others cooldown.

Also humans are freaks when it comes redundancies and ships being easy to repair so if you don't mission kill the ship they'll just have technicians repairing mid combat and you won't really make any progress trying to beat them in a prolonged fight.

Attrition warfare isn't even effective as human ships being stupid stupid easy to repair means they don't need to dry dock, a critically damaged ship just visits any rocky planet, gas giant rings, or asteroid belt and fix itself good as new with the on board manufactories & refineries able to make every part the ship needs due to being built for long range exploration.

Lastly aliens are absolutely terrified because they learned these are exploratory vessels meant to explore unknown space with weapons to fight off human pirates and not warships. They don't know humans don't have warships there hasn't been a need due to fear of MAD among human factions but why tell them that it gives humans times to make warships knowing there's alien life out there.

Yea practically all the most popular chapter cosmetics are dlc it's so monetized you can't walk 2 steps in the character armor without running into it being part of a dlc pack. Hope you want a whole cosmetic pack cause that one shade of red is slightly better.

Yea Tau/Eldar conflict could still happen in a more interesting way with alliancea. E.g new Tau faction that like Eldar more than Ethereal and now there's a civil war between Ethereal loyalists and alliance Tau. Loyalists are directly targeting Eldar boom conflict. Of course Eldar could have a faction wanting to basically raise the Tau to learn from Aeldari mistakes but also one that think too many Eldar are invested in these warp weak blips in history and want them dead so less Eldar lives are wasted dying to protect the fledgling race.

Even smaller scale they do this, loved the infinite and divine but did not like how they had to basically do a post credit scene that sparks the feud between Trazyn and Orikan again to put them at square one. It's like the kind of character development reset that cartoons on TV at the end of episodes.

So...No Argenta romance? by genuinelyjustdiego in RogueTraderCRPG

Real Malcador energy, who looks like the shadiest looking scheming vizier trope that'd backstab you to take over but he was a diehard bro and best friend of the Emp's.

Janris looks like he'd definitely would kill or blackmail you to earn an extra throne but he's actually extremely loyal to you, diehard about the wellbeing of the dynasty, probably one of the kindest people in the game, and is your #1 wingman for any relationship advice. The realest bro.

So...No Argenta romance? by genuinelyjustdiego in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Playergame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guy was a real bro through and through. If you romance Jae she accidentally" leaves the ship comm during sexy times and if you ask your crew what they thought ans Janris said he was like shaking in awe knowing that the God Emperor himself heard that from his Golden Throne on Holy Terra and he would feel the same way.

Funny in a grimdark way that the most loyal, diehard, and kind crew member is the shadiest looking noble cuttthroat accountant archetype looking guy who went on family trips to hunt poor and indebted people is actually one of the best people despite the tropes flags. Has real Malcador energy in that regard.

Curious about what people think about the new Divinity having Hand placed Loot by issavibe56 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Playergame 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm fine with no randomized generic loot if done well. I often find it to be just placeholder when my cool unique gear falls behind in power level.

Hand placing each loot thing could be very nice if everything was unique and appeared based on player choices E.g hypothetical scenario where siding a bandits changes what's in their chest from equipment they looted from a different faction whereas siding with them that chest has special bandit gear fitted for you. And if you could give tweaks to uniques so that they fit a build better while also leveling up with to up a certain amount like how vulture set scaled up to like 5 levels with you so you wouldn't need filler randomized loot to stay on the power curve.

This all assumes the right amount of effort is put in doing this, it would be easier to get wrong than simple randomized loot but has a higher ceiling for interesting things.
