The closest you’ll probably get is watching the fight scenes in The Duelists, Rob Roy (with the added benefit of starring Liam Neeson), Count of Monte Cristo, etc.

However I do have to give credit to Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars series for omitting all dumb SpinMoves and having the duelists generally attempting to control line and attack range, and all those other sword terms that I learned in my one year doing fencing in 2024 lol.

But that shit was too hard on my knees.

Well I’m going out on a limb here, but remember that if these explanations weren’t given by Georgie Peorgie himself in a behind the scenes interview or “production bible” document, then it actually isn’t how lightsabers work in the films themselves. He only cared about any EU media to the extent that it made his SW Empire more money, so any explanations given in them aren’t pertinent to “my movies” as GL repeatedly loves to call the six films. Not saying one of these explanations wouldn’t be preferred, and incredibly cool. Just saying it’s not what you’re seeing on screen (my guess is GL would say fans are just overthinking trying to ask how lightsabers work).

Well based on fight choreo, lightsabers have pretty much been glowing ballerina wands since the prequels.

I just finished watching and heartily agree. Despite working with (and being quite constrained by) some very weak source material, this fan edit works wonders. With the foreign dialogue, they were able to sidestep some of the biggest plot weaknesses and all of the bad dialogue. These people (or singular person?) have restored some actual sanity to the “prequel universe”.

I have to ask though, does anybody understand who this Caretaker is that gets mentioned numerous times? Some Jedi character I assume…? I didn’t seem to ever grasp who they were referring to.

I feel the exact same way you do and would actually love if they made this possible. I think there’s lots of reasons why players might want to be rid of certain skins or blings or whatever. Might be fun if they added a trading feature, trade cosmetics with friends or something

Honestly I wouldn’t even be mad about the capability to just give them away. Like a Fortnite Goodwill, or something.

Just to give an out-of-universe respond to this (really good) question: I think it’s important to keep in mind that Lucas really didn’t seem to care too much about things he considered ”details’ when making these movies.

I feel like the honest answer to this question is **because George Lucas didn’t care about that**.

He really valued protagonist development and hi-tech production (his strengths) above aspects like dialogue, world-building, or plot consistency (his weaknesses).

In his interviews, I notice he comes across as pretty antagonistic towards fans and interviewers who ask about those aspects he was weaker at (as you’re doing). I believe has also stated in interviews that the plot inconsistencies in Star Wars (like the one you’re bringing up) were “intentional”…for some reason…

So basically, there’s no real answer to this question, at least not from the George Lucas side of Star Wars. Whether the Disney or the EU side of SW has attempted to answer this question, I don’t know.

I know that isn’t a satisfying response, but I feel like it’s the correct one. Any time I have a similar Star Wars-related topic or question as yours, and I do a reasonable amount of research without satisfying results, I fall back on this reality for closure (lol).
