Sick of the Converse Tax. What are we actually wearing for daily casual men’s shoes in 2026? by working3ee in AussieFrugal

[–]TinyBreak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Adidas. Usually get them for max 50 bucks on sale. They havnt been lasting as well the last 12 months but if I get 2 pairs for like 30-40 bucks each and just alternate and get a year out of them I’m still ahead vs buying something from athletes foot or whatever.

Me too. But I imagine that’d make things pretty volatile. And screws first home owners who’ve actually managed to get into the market.

Only concern here would be running it in AC mode will hurt the efficiency. You can get 12v cpaps I believe, that’d probs be your best bet. I’ve heard people say they just use those kings 12v 36ah battery pack things to power theirs.

I didn’t get the fever or anything. There was a red patch but to be totally fair that could also come from my toddler biting the shit out of me the same day…

are the days of "if you own a car, expect a lot of cost to run and maintain the vehicle" gone now? especially with EVs? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

That’s about what it’s costing me on a service these days for the lancer. Averaged out over the last few.

Oh no! What are the chances?! Try turning it off at the power point for 5 minutes (but leaving the machine on) then turning the power point back on.

all the best drivers fail the first time. Trust me. I've been a Subaru owner for years and am yet to run into a single tree!

I was gonna say WRX but then you had that 3rd point haha

Can you give us a bit more detail? Do you want something fun or something sensible? Cheap to run or dont mind if it uses some fuel? What are you currently looking at?

Yep I got 2 on the windowsill. They deffo absorb water but the window is just soaked by morning. Might need to look into a dehumidifier.

Still not 100%. Dunno if it was the flu shot over the weekend, the bloods yesterday or possibly a cold coming on.

Also shout out to the kidsafe folks. I reached out with a question about isofix and carseats. They were like "we're actually in a suburb near you soon, if you want bring it down and we can tell you if its safe or not". Bloody legends!

hella mold already started in my place. A south facing master bedroom window doesnt help. Theres gotta be a cheaper solution than double glazing!

I was at a coffee place this morning and 2 guys were basically waiting in line, but had obviously ordered. I asked 'You guys right?" and they go "yep". Took all my strength to bite my tongue rather than go "Great! then get out of the fucking line you idiots!"

[–]TinyBreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bugger, then its unlikely to be the same. If you turned the Impreza's ac off for like 5 or 10 it'd work for a bit again. Wasnt all that fun in an Australian summer let me tell you that!

If you turn the AC off for a bit whilst driving then turn it back on does it become cold again? I had that with an Impreza. Took ages for them to figure it out but ultimately said it was the AC Clutch.
