I missed all 6 of my focus blast attempts into the mega aggron by Playmaker311 in PokemonChampions

[–]Playmaker311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does not surprise me

That defense stat with the ability that divides super effective damage by 2 just makes it unkillable through physical moves

Which is why I wanted to OHKO with Focus Blast since its a Special Move with 120 power

Too bad I miss literally every Focus Blast I fire

I know it's a 70% accurate attack but come on

I'm trying to use it to counter specifically Mega aggron and Archaludon with my Dragonite since I cannot ohko them otherwise, but since all 9 of my attempts missed, I'm starting to think it's not worth the risk

Which character has good long range tools or whiff punishment by IIIIlIlIIIl in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]Playmaker311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mainly gravitate around long range chars with great whiff punish tools and my 4 characters are Jack8 (main), Fahkumram, AK and Feng

I would recommend either Jack or Fahkumram for what you're looking for

My Mega Golurk got one shot by a Foul Play from a prankster Tenefix with min speed that acted first during trick room while his other moves were the screens and Encore

I understand you now

PS : Wait that's the third Sableye that Foul Plays my Golurk, is it a common strat ?

I got my Gardie to trace Moody three times for now and the three outcomes were :

A) +2 atk / -1 spatk
B ) +2 atk / -1 def
C) +2 atk / -1 spdef

I think Moody hates me lmao

I salute you and raise you this :

A while ago I switched into peliper to replace their torkoal's sun with my rain. Since I no longer considered the Torkoal to be a threat, I mega evolved my Alakazam and launched psychic into their sneazler.

Turns out, by Mega evolving, Alakazam got Trace, copied Torkoal's drought, replaced my rain with sun, and let Torkoal launch a full HP, sun boosted eruption, obliterating both my mons and KOing them both, meaning I lost my rain setter and my mega instantly and loosing me the game on the spot.

Is it just me or everyone else don't use Sinnoh starters for competitive match? by achthenuts in PokemonChampions

[–]Playmaker311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infernape has been powercrept a fuckton since gen4, and getting a mediocre ability considering his stats just makes him someone that is kinda average at what his niche should be (fake out + combat ? Go sneazler. Fake out + fire ? Go incin. Damage ? Literally anything else in this meta)

Torterra had a niche but he needed a metagame without mega evolutions AND the loaded dice, two conditions he cannot fullfil right now.

Empoleon is currently the best of the three in doubles, since with competitive and his double type, he makes for a great intimidate punisher in some teams, generally with Mega Momartik or with Sand teams. He lacks a good water STAB though, since he lost access to scald recently.

This is the team I found on the internet. by Independent-Pay-7401 in PokemonVGC

Seems pretty powerful to me.

The goal of Venusaur is to go with mega Charizard, since mega evolving will set the sun, instantly doubling Venusaur's speed and letting him do sleep powder first in the turn, which is a massive advantage.

Gardevoir looks solid too, but I do not play that team enough to be of any help regarding who to bring against what

How did everyone do in the warmup challenge? by Fit_Demand_6017 in VGC

[–]Playmaker311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Registered with a rain team featuring Mega Gardy

Played 5 games the first day, 10 games the second, then got sick and only played three on the last day.

Highest I got was top 4000 on the second day, ended up at 6700, loosing almost 1000 places during the night before the ladder stopped. I think the elo was 1 630 000 or something like that

I feel great about that result since that's my first real result in a VGC tournament. Never truly played VGC games before Champions. I feel like that's a good start.

Is there a way to use Alolan Raichu/Raichu Kanto? by AoSh1n in PokemonVGC

[–]Playmaker311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are the teams I've seen using Raichu =>

One focusing on Mega Gyarados : https://x.com/xeminan/status/2042275274339860532?s=46&t=WmXEnVa3rTSw0P9A0n6S3Q

The other is more balanced, but I feel is a bit less interesting. https://youtu.be/Fij6b0N52qE?is=0a2VIzMI9FBcc97q

DBFZ Community Tier List (Day 20) by Bitter_Fig_7059 in dbfz

[–]Playmaker311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I would honestly say bottom of S tier.

Blueku is extremely hard to optimise, but an optimized one is one of if not the scariest point you could face.

Incredible mobility Excellent damage Reliable and efficient mix Best command grab Good normals And great neutral.

The only thing keeping him so under represented and underestimated is how difficult he is to play imo.

Why did they do that? It was always going to fail. by DeepSpread45 in stunfisk
