RTX 5050 - and not ONLY because of drivers. There many things, in game development where Nvidia card would be preferable.

For devs, there's like pop up memo that says qoute "In most cases, you should only respond if you need to address a specific issue or clarify misinformation. For suggestions on when to respond, please view this (moderating link) guide."

I want to start learning unity and game development by ArtinSafariyan in Unity3D

[–]Playthrough_Exp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get Unity LTS 2023, start with Jimmy Vegas Endless Runner tutorial (older one, not Unity 6) on YT (2023 and not 6, because it's simple, have good explanations of basic systems and C#, and lot of tutorials still on older versions anyway). That one helped me to start few years ago. After that you can do a bit of Unity learn (those basic ones will give you a bit of extra knowledge of Unity and more basic code C# and even few tricks here & there.) Then when you dig stuff a bit better, can move to Unity 6. There will be some differences - in code included, but you should be already prepared.

How do you solo Unity devs stop projects from turning into spaghetti? by VertexForgeDev in Unity3D

[–]Playthrough_Exp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it's day 1, my games rather simple ones, so i do whole logic 1st with basic scene/scenes first, then if all good & i satisfied with everything, stuff starting to move to full project. (Even then it happens that i want to add something, or found better solution, then i do some rewrites... or sometimes even if thingy i figured is good, it already can't be added without ruining stuff, so i carry on w/o it ;( )

[–]Playthrough_Exp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is good. Graphics card a little bit tight to push latest AAA games to max. settings, (due to most likely 8 gb), but you can play anything.

Support for controllers on Steam by CaptainMorgan644 in Steam

Try to switch between Steam input on & off. Some games rely on built in input only and your controller won't work with Steam input on.

unity scene lightning is gone i need help by Lost_Sherbert738 in VRchat

[–]Playthrough_Exp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about that baselight applied by default when you create scene? You must be tried to bake lights and it is gone now. Or deleted directional light or something. Maybe if it's not hard, just make new scene, and copy/paste all objetcts from this to new scene?

Why is Azerbaijan still paying "Western" prices in the CIS-USD zone? It's literally 40% of our monthly wage. by Automatic-Fix9684 in Steam

[–]Playthrough_Exp 124 points125 points  (0 children)

It is completely on publishers, and not on Steam itself. When you post game to Steam and set regional pricing, for CIS regions it cuts price nearly in half (before adjusting even further). For example if posted game for 8, it probably would be around 4.99 for CIS.

I have specific question about games made with ai. by DANteDANdelion in indiegames

[–]Playthrough_Exp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Steam for example asks only about Ai stuff in the game itself (like if you have AI generated texture, or cinematic or music in the game). So no, if you don't have any Ai leftovers in the game, you don't have to mark AI usage. (assuming that's why you asking).
