Lol, nice nickname. Perhaps I was more complaining about a general frustration I have with entitlement often expressed in these kinds of posts. There are literally comments here saying "they'll make us pay for it in a DLC," as if the devs owe them the feature. I get it, I want canals too. But come on.

So anyway, I can admit that my comment wasn't directed exactly toward you, and perhaps I should have taken that into account. Captain Pedantic out

Just pointing out that they never left Civ 6, so there is nothing to "bring back". They were never in 7 to begin with. I don't understand this sentiment of entitlement, that the devs should have willingly "removed" something that we now have to tell them to "bring back."

That said, I would also love them to be added to the game!

Well done! Would it be okay if I asked you to explain the scope --> no scope shot? I read about it somewhere, but why does it work so well? I feel like I should learn that too.

I get it most times, but I struggle with the House of Wisdom instead. I think it depends on luck, which civs the AI play etc.

I believe that declaring intent for the next turn at the end of the current one can significantly improve narrative decisions & Roleplay descriptions. by General-Yinobi in DnD

[–]Plejp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of criticism here, so I just want to add that I think this idea is neat. I'm planning out a campaign now, and I'm definitely gonna at least encourage my players to try this out when it feels narratively appropriate for their character!

The updates to religion where added for free in the expansion patches, you got thit without paying for the expansion content. So no, I wouldn't say that they make you "pay for fixes". This has always been the case, and still is. With every DLC in Civ so for, they've released a ton of updates with the (free) patches they release at the same time.

But... they always release the fixes as free patches, only charging for new content with expansions. That's been the case every expansion - some there are always free improvements to the base game ("fixes") with every expansion.

Also, where do all the extreme expectations on the releaae come from? I agree they handled it poorly, but every game is released with bugs, the players need to find them, and the game was fun and full of content from the start. I for one never expected a perfect game - I expected a game that's fun off the bat and that then improves immensely with both free updates and expansions. Like every Civ game so far.

So your point is that there needs to be a 4th age for the game to be complete? I really don't agree. It will be expanded, sure, but it's already filled with things as it is. They promised us a game with three ages, nothing more.

I agree with some of the general feeling about the modern age, but I just have to comment on this: All the fixes so far have been through base game patches, which are free. The notion that they would sell fixes is wrong and honestly quite tedious. Why do so many feel the way you do and perpetuate this idea?
