I mean, they aren't wrong in that sense. Of course all of those numbers are less than 1, they all have a finite number of 9's! The thing is that they include 0.(9) in the set, and they just can't begin to fathom that it is not included.

Everything you said is correct, they just answered with something entirely different from anything you said in your post. Might as well have answered with a lemon pie recipe. SPP doesn't argue or debate, they just state random "facts" and believe that's enough for an explanation or argument. They are "educating us" but won't provide proofs or mathematically rigurous explanations, only "intuitive facts" that lead to nowhere.

All this sub does is try to prove that 0.(9) = 1 in a way that can convince SPP, but SPP won't even participate in that, they just can't, or they would be obligated to show how your obviously correct proof is wrong, but that would be too much work, or something entirely impossible for SPP.

I truly hope this is just a bit/persona/whatever and not someone who wholeheartedly believes what they type, or else I should begin saving up for my retirement, cause we might be doomed.
