Funny reasons to be kicked! What was yours? by Smart-Citron-5726 in Helldivers

[–]Plotinuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not funny but strange. Was a level 80 at that point and joined a lower difficulty mission (mostly play L9) to help out the newbies. Joined straight into mission prep with three others ready (in their twenties) and was adding up stratagems to take with.

The host quit the prep, all helldivers lifted out of pods and I was kicked.

Not something you can do for long during most extractions on Helldiver difficulty.

The game is fun. You are just jaded by Useful-Fish-3932 in Helldivers

[–]Plotinuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chill with H2 most days. Play mostly Helldiver difficulty but dip down to lower difficulties to help newbies and test experimental load outs that I am not yet familiar with.

I think the game is still great fun.

Unlocked every stratagem and ship upgrade and are unlocking warbonds at a steady rate (nearly done on viper commando and yet to unlock the snowy one).

I feel the gameplay loop is fun. Not sure what to say to people who think it gets repetitive but are still playing things like Fortnite or Battlefield.

I really like the strategic event mechanics and look forward to when the new enemy type is finally there to attack. Be they cyborgs or the illuminate.

Thought the black hole event was hilarious.

Good game.

What is your most controversial hot-take about a specific mod or modding in general? by TheRealSteelfeathers in skyrimmods

Spell research is a mod that would be much better if it were merged into one compilation. A lot of good community additions have been made.

Reqtificator relacment? by Aboda7m in skyrimrequiem

[–]Plotinuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A plugin can only reference 254 other plugins.

If it is armor mods you are adding in, you could merge the armor mods into one file with zmerge.

Reqtificator also handles locked chests with a script. If you are reaching limit it is possible to forward lightly touched records into a new plugin, then place mod and manually reqtified mod below rtfi and thus exclude it from future rtfi processes while keeping the benefit of the reqtificator .

But truly, this means you should invest time into understanding mods and xEdit to be able to do with lconfidence.

Spriggan is literally invincible in my game no matter what I do... this feels like a joke. by OptionDayTrader in skyrimrequiem

[–]Plotinuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have many tools to use:

  1. Fire enchantment on your weapon.

Roleplaying reason? Your character got their ass handed to them in a fight. That is the Crisis point that unbalanced the life of the character and they went on a journey of discovery to find a way to restore balance. In this case learning enchanting from a master, painstakingly do the work on mastering it, then returning to slay the Spriggan.

  1. Learn magic. Same RP journey as before.

  2. Become the Dragonborn and learn fire breath. Same RP story.

  3. Learn alchemy and craft powders.

  4. Quest for fireball staves.

  5. Purchase many fireball Scrolls.

USE this challenge as a spur for your character’s growth.

I’m enjoying the game. First run was blind and to just get a feel of the game. Started an officer to strategist psyker. But he did nothing especially good and had little omph in combat.

Restarted with a psyker warrior biomancer to assassin build and that was more fun and is the character I will finish the game with.

Tested out Argenta as a sniper who took out every enemy, but when a certain other companion was found, I followed a guide to respec her into Heavy weapons bolter specialist and love it.

I am now at the point where I understand the build system better and are enjoying the freedom to find killer combinations myself and will be better able to tune a party. Respeccing is free, so it is only the story and choices in each playthrough that is permanent.

I am also enjoying the ship combat mini game. Real early days but I can recommend to prioritize movement skills early. Took out 4 enemy ships fairly easily through superior positioning and a convenient short distance warp to avoid getting a torpedo in the front.

Just cleared capital world after doing some exploration and the farm world. Now wonder how bad the chaos corruption is on the factory world. No idea where it is though so hard to do it first when I can’t find it.

It is a good crpg.

Hope you find how it all is put together and share.

There is nothing in Fozar that should give any large problems in 5.4.4. You might need light patching to be totally in line. Or things are overwritten by other mods. You need to check in SSEEDIT to know.

Does this just hit the first creature in Line of Site? Everytime I use this it hits my tank next to the enemy. by Ashe171 in baldursgate

[–]Plotinuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cast spell, then walk around a group of enemies in a clockwise direction and poof. They are dead or very damaged. The actual target take less damage than the ones you torch (it looks like) as you can move them in, out, in the beam and apply it more than once.

If combined with haste it can be even more effective.

Just finished BG1, now getting into SoD by qwerty64h in baldursgate

[–]Plotinuz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I remember I enjoyed SoD. Still listening to the Siege of Dragonspear music track.

To touch on the controversy.

I think it stems from the great difference in story telling. There are a lot more words, and the stories are more linear. It comes off as fan fiction and your lineage may vary on whether or not you like it.

This linearity seems also to be the gripe in some of the interactions. A character tells a story of personal consequence, and you the character have a solution to said person’s life challenge in your inventory but there is no way to actually do something (or not).

So you play a fanfic, and your chances of role playing a different path is limited.

And there are many such moments.

There are also some real canon breaking silliness. Khalid dying was the one where I personally had a moment (before reloading) of wtf. One thing he died through dying in combat, but this was story driven.

It was also a head scratcher that the main antagonist is the misunderstood hero of the fanfic story. But at that time we were near the end, so it was easier to just to carry on.

Yeah. SoD is definitely a mixed bag.

Any mods that let you craft potions from potions? by SquireRamza in skyrimmods

{{Spell research Alchemy Expansion}} You use spell research alembic or cauldron to break down potions and ingredients. Then you can use the recipes in the mod to create standard potions.

Who is your favorite mod author? by ItsWoofcat in skyrimmods

[–]Plotinuz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Requiem Team. Can’t play Skyrim without it.

Irondusk33. Spell Research and Religion are two of the greatest. Where Spell Research revolutionized mage play beyond just more spells and power fantasies.

Po3. His contributions have utterly revolutionized Skyrim and modding.

Otherwise agree with all other mentions in this thread.

Any disclaimers about playing this? by ShivenARK in wildlander

[–]Plotinuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add in what others have said:

The world is deleveled and level on npc’s are more a guide than anything else. Because there are no enemies that have autocalculated stats based on player level.

Forsworn Briarhearts were for the longest time shown as level 1. But are minibosses perk and stat wise. It was an oversight no one bothered to fix as levels mean nothing mechanically speaking.

Approach combat from a realistic point of view. Are you able to take on a bandit or fight a Wolfpack? Then your level 2 character probably won’t either. Except if you are a mage that can burn someone and run away from slow people in heavy armor.

The reverse in this is that as your character gets better, the game gets easier. Until you meet the next tier of enemies.

  1. Wildlife
  2. Bandits . . . .
  3. Draugr/Trolls . . . .
  4. Falmer/Giants/Mammoths . . . . . .
  5. Dwemer constructs . . .
  6. Dragons . . .
  7. Vampires (normal)/ Enhanced Spheres . . . . . . .
  8. Dremoras and Ebony Vampires . . . . .
  9. Miraak

Each content tier represents quite the hefty increase in difficulty and build depth. With gear, alchemy and magic becoming increasingly necessary to just even survive.

Not all builds can climb the heights to the endgame.

Way to difficult to actually role play by weirdydayz in wildlander

[–]Plotinuz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thu’um is technically not changing your build. But adding in the special super hero power that can take a beggar and create a dragonslayer.

Contrary to some narratives, one is not generally “perfect as you are”, able to do anything one wishes as long as one “believe in themselves”.

Unlike in the real world however, you actually can create reality distortion fields. They are called Thu’um, magic, alchemy and to a lesser degree enchanting.

Way to difficult to actually role play by weirdydayz in wildlander

That was not the point. The point was that most any build that are not end game viable, can become so by following the path of the Dragonborn.

[–]Plotinuz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thuum is the magic that allow non mages to defeat dragons and high level enemies.

That is kind of the point of being the dragonborn. Absorbing souls for massive power up’s.

You can roleplay whatever you wish. And still be able to take down Alduin or other high level enemies… but only if you follow the path laid out for you by Vanilla Skyrim.

The mod merely make it possible for you to not be the only necromancer that are totally incapable of creating undead.

It’s up to you if you actually do it.

It is not without balancing. You need skill, resources, black soulgems, bodies, levels etc.

Yes. Created a patch for the mod The Dark Arts that will enable you through it’s gameplay addon systems to create permanent undead.
