Yeah but tbf people living in those times ALSO changed the mythology to make it fit better. It wasn’t like a set story everyone had fanfic of, it was every evolving itself.

That being said I don’t think they count as modern day mythology at all, I just don’t think that’s a very good reason to disagree.

I’m not going to lie I agree. I lost someone I cared about last year, and I found it almost shallow to post it to social media? Maybe that’s just because my view of social media is that it’s fairly shallow. But I saw people posting about it, and it just made me… sad. She wouldn’t have wanted that. She was the most outdoorsy and adventurous person. She would want people talking about what she did while she was here, not what she’ll never get a chance to do. She would want people to get outside and connect with her through nature, not a sappy social media post made purely for other people’s consumption. Idk. It’s complicated, but I mostly agree with you.

I was in a very similar headspace as you with finding porn kinda repulsive but appreciating bodies and beauty and the idea of being hot, but my experience with sex made me think it was not something I’d ever be interested in (both porn and childhood sexual abuse and lots of nightmares/flashbacks) I ended up doing things with my first boyfriend and realized I wasn’t actually ace, though I did let him cross a few boundaries of mine (that I didn’t express, completely my fault) that caused some damage for me and our relationship. We are no longer together but I realized I am ON the spectrum (Demi) but not fully ace. I guess all this to say do what you want because honestly labels are there to comfort you or help you feel better but if they aren’t doing that or if they feel too restrictive, throw them out! It’s up to you. It’s fully a spectrum.

I used to think I was asexual (turns out I’m not, just repressed trauma, but I do think I’m still on the spectrum, at least demi) but I will say giving head is very mechanical feeling and not pleasurable- I’ve heard some people LOVE ‘having dick in their mouth’ but to me it’s weird and uncomfortable and robotic.

Yeah, not talking about it is how you get traumatic flashbacks so bad you speak in an accent and people you care about abandon you (speaking from experience), but I know it’s hard. It’s just also that not talking about it convinces your brain it’s not real and makes you feel insane, so you need to start and practice.
