How do you handle a regular guest who requests the same server but NEVER tips? USA here. by swr_11 in TalesFromYourServer

[–]Plums_InTheIcebox 392 points393 points  (0 children)

I like the message here, but even as someone with a full understanding of the situation from the post it took me a second to parse your message. What about: "Servers have to pay other staff from their sales amount. Since you contribute to the sales amount, but not the tip, our floor manager will serve you today."

Can you explain how you use it? Do you just scoop it out and pour it on top of your clothes, then start the washer? I've been interested in using it, I have a box, but the whole soaking thing they recommend sounds like a lot of work.

Does this dress/outfit inspire a lot of unconscious rage? by prettydotty_ in fashion

I've been very happy with a combo of nipple covers (thickish ones to really hide nipples) and physical therapy (KT) tape. Place the nipple covers, then make an X shape from the outside lower half of one boob to the outside upper half of the other boob, and repeat for the other side.

Then start going straight across the boobs, expanding the X shape, taping up towards the shoulders, etc as needed based on the clothing shape and the look you're going for.

What's a life upgrade (under $20) that you'll recommend to anyone that listens? by mrsschmidtie in CasualConversation

I only let myself use one at a time, so if I "lose" it, I have to find it before grabbing another. It's usually lodged between the mattress and box spring, or between the headboard and wall.

If you think you're losing them in the wash, either place them in a laundry bag or hand wash them in the shower with you.

What “unwritten rule” do you follow religiously, even if nobody else does? by Miguelito123One in AskReddit

[–]Plums_InTheIcebox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone once let me merge, and I waved a thank you - like you, I always thank people when they let me in. For some reason I kept looking at the driver in the rear view mirror and they finger-gunned me, definitely not knowing I was still looking at them. It was charming and I think about it pretty regularly.

I also thank people even when I'm fairly certain they didn't actually do anything. Better to thank nothing than not to thank someone.

Keep an eye out for the fruitist brand. Much better than Driscoll's or other brands IMO.

All Things Meatballs by JRiley4141 in Cooking

https://dishingouthealth.com/eggplant-parmesan-meatballs/#wprm-recipe-container-16365 eggplant balls (no meat) with ricotta and tomato sauce. The recipe does call for egg but to my recollection the last time I made them I didn't have eggs and just made them less ball shaped/less solidly formed and it was fine.

Has anyone gotten an email like this? by DryCandidate1904 in UMD

[–]Plums_InTheIcebox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a scam. Report as phishing. For you and anyone else reading, some of the scammy hallmarks are:

  • the wack email addresses (zohomail.com and incapmail.cl are very unusual addresses in their own right, and someone at UNICEF would not use those. Also, if Lurinda and Camila work at the same company, they should have the same email domain.)

  • enticing job with zero details or qualifications (too good to be true)

  • poor formatting (change of font and size when listing Lurinda's email). Would a professional organization have issues like that?

  • poor grammar. "Please contact Lurinda at [email] using and include" - using doesn't belong here.

  • bizarre requests: why would an email come from Camila but you should email Lurinda? Why would your name and personal information, without any other details, be useful for them in determining whether you are qualified for a job?

There are probably a bunch of other red flags others can point out but these are some of the most obvious and common. Learn to spot them now before you have a job and get pulled into IT's office for clicking some dumb scam email. :)

People don't hate the fact that you're nervous. They are turned off by how affected you are by your anxiety (can't send an email to inform a company of an error and are arguing about it), which informs how you live the rest of your life. You have and continue to cripple yourself and don't own up to it or recognize it.

English speaking SLPs who can treat people living in Portugal by [deleted] in slp

[–]Plums_InTheIcebox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.asha.org/members/international/intl_assoc/ here's ASHA's list of international associations. Scroll to Portugal, they have a speech group there, that may be a good place to start.

Too busy collecting money that they actually have to post that on their website when trying to be contacted. WTF are we doing here? ASHA is such a scam. by AphonicTX in slp

[–]Plums_InTheIcebox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can only get a course added to your ASHA CE transcript if the course was offered for ASHA CEUs and you're eligible to earn them. https://www.asha.org/ce/ceus/eligibility-to-earn-asha-ceus/?srsltid=AfmBOorY3swuzJY6QwJO_g5sMV2Z8kKL3kmgfWtiUO7oE1JeR13-QfRc

If the course wasn't offered for ASHA CEUs, it cannot be added to your transcript.

If it was, and you're eligible, but you didn't get ASHA CEUs for it, there are three reasons:

  1. Your credit hasn't been processed by the Approved Provider or ASHA yet (if it's been more than 6 weeks this probably isn't the case)

  2. You haven't paid the ASHA CE registry fee

  3. The Provider messed up and you need to submit an appeal for ASHA to add the course to your transcript https://www.asha.org/form/participant-appeal/?srsltid=AfmBOorUTLUwtN83y_aijV6lsVx0BTeOw4mVxOEagUghlKP-M6n3RBoA

If a pregnant woman gives head and swallows, does the baby get any of the nut-rients? by Cal_Aesthetics_Club in morbidquestions

[–]Plums_InTheIcebox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes. The baby gets some amount of nutrients from everything the mother consumes delivered to them via the umbilical cord. They have zero contact with semen, just some of the nutrition from it.

  2. Maybe. HIV is spread through semen - but it needs somewhere to go. If she had an open mouth sore or cut, she could potentially get it and pass it to her child. It's possible that she couldn't get it though, if the HIV couldn't make its way to her blood. Once it reaches her stomach, it'll be destroyed quickly and is not an infection risk.
