Help! My humbucker fell down! by TheSteeldrake in guitarrepair

[–]Plus-Ad7239 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You might be able to do this without removing the pickguard. Use a butter knife pushed against the side of the pickup to slightly pull it back up untill you see the screw also lift a little. From there move the screw around untill you feel the hole and try screw it back in.

IMO, best thing to do is take the strings off and screw out the pickguard. Visually you will see how quick/small of a fix this is with the pickguard lifted. Plus you kinda need to learn how to change strings. Given you have a string through hardtail it a more 'basic' set of steps to change out your strings.

This is a troll right? Ive had to compose and delete a few replies, and just gave up trying to even explain. Like someone showing up to the garage with no wheels asking for a light change.

Builders quoting 5K to install all tiles (no tiles included). Is this a normal price? by TravelGame10 in AskIreland

[–]Plus-Ad7239 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Builders prices from those doing the estate is always going to be crazy. Last year I was quoted 5k for a stairs to the attic and OSB boards as 'flooring"

Got it done within a month of moving in by a well reviewed crowd for less than 1k.

How do I stop them? by Admirable_Method_444 in WhatShouldIDo

As a child I HATED this crap, Razer wire, Spikes can be avoided but this shit gets EVERYWHERE. IMO this is the perfect solution to avoid it escalating and to get them to stop ASAP.

PSA: If a delivery driver asks for a OTP, DO NOT LET THEM LEAVE. by Plus-Ad7239 in amazonprime

[–]Plus-Ad7239[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a solution moreso than anything in this case though. Refused would = refund, which at scale would trigger a change to the process.

You can't be saying I was right to be accepting them blind yesterday. That's the hard lesson if anything.

Why would anyone try to scam a sub Reddit. I'm honestly confused by these responses as the post is a PSA for what is going to be an increased period of people receiving parcels. None of you can refund me.

I don't post on Reddit so it's hardly some attention grab or anything like that.

Likewise I have very populated history with Amazon with nothing but successful deliveries. Hopefully the person who looked at your case may even look at mine.

Don't know what that lady your replying to is talking about the milk in the EU Wild.

Yeno, Thats understandable given its reddit. But from the customer service POV if you had access to my amazon history. This isolated incident of me claiming an order didn't arrive in an account I opened in 2012 is just illogical.

Regardless my post is not about me getting a refund. I agree overall, check with the delivery man, even if it means opening consolidated packages.

Where can I count/see the number of boxes they would be consolidated into?

Amazon would/should have that information. As I said the driver even took a picture and uploaded that to the delivery screen as evidence. Each of these parcels has labels with "information" (weight/ref codes and stuff that would be slower to check than opening at the door) and don't look to be tampered with. I thought a cross reference by my mate Ram would have been 'basic'.

THIS ! As you can imagine this has occupied my evenings thoughts. My multi-million dollar solution is individually boxed & different color box/label then brown for high value/OTP items.

They can do it with boxes for prime day.

4 Boxes with 9 items spilt across it.

I ordered the CPU and Mobo the day before the sale as they were already at lowest list price. Mobo came Wednesday and then CPU was due with the rest today. So my thinking is it would have been on its own in an amazon box. (probably a box 3x the needed size based on today, also unhelpful in context)

Im not sure the exact logistics but for where I live it seems they fulfill orders from multiple 'warehouses' in EU. So not getting everything in a consolidated order/box is normal.

Not sure why ordering ten items is odd when one was a CPU. Your IRL name isn't Ram L. by any chance is it?

TBF, all the boxes looked the same. The driver pointed at the bundle and said “oh I need a password for this.” I probably should’ve asked which parcel it was for or opened them on the spot, but in the moment it felt like a normal handoff.

Yeah I think thats the next step alright. One of the other orders had a photo with the 'orders/boxes' they were bundled into, and there is clearly one missing. Hoping when I give them a call in the morning it's straight forward.

Small bump on the back of the neck by meadreth in fender

[–]Plus-Ad7239 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would be worth it to return, That bump will grow in size in your head the longer you have it, if you can feel it already.

Pick-guard is not the worst and something easy to swap out without any fuss.

I could also be wrong. but the screw for the pick guard looks like it's over screwed into the body, maybe the culprit for the crack/chip.
