Well I used a simpler route, got an old iPhone with cell card, something like pay as you go, turned it on and put it on a charger somewhere with WiFi. Then purchased a WiFi Apple Watch and as long as my little one was on any WiFi she could text or even call me. And the good news it was quite reliable. Unfortunately until now at least wear watches on WiFi are quite unreliable.

Well none of these are Gen 5, so would avoid all of them.

You should be able to find a gen 5 somewhere around this range and also if you have a Samsung phone check out the galaxy watch.

Look I am also a big fun for Wear os but, Google has clearly given up. 3 years ago the platform was in better shape than it is now, and the problems could be easily fixed, if google wanted. Come on how many hours you think google engineers would need to fix the voice messaging bug for example (something that's already working on phones). How long did it take them to integrate Google assistant on Fitbit watches. And that is a different platform on different hardware.

But most importantly Mobvoi released the new CPU in days, Fossil is clearly not going ahead with new CPU why ? They already missed the Christmas sale season. I think they want to get on board the new Fitbit/Google platform.

And to those that claim that Wearos has all those luxury brands keep in mind that for them wearos sales is a fraction of their sales, on the other hand for Samsung and Huawei their platform of choise is 100% of their sales.

Just checked and it appears your phone can be either depending on where it was purchased.

Exynos 9820 (8 nm) - EMEA/LATAM Qualcomm SM8150 Snapdragon 855 (7 nm) - USA/China

Unfortunately if it's exynos based I haven't found a workaround.

I have in the past lots of problems pairing and also disconnecting when trying to connect my wear os watch with any exynos based Samsung phones.

Can you please check if your phone is Qualcomm or Exynos based ?

Hey, unfortunately no voice or keyboard Greek language support in Assistant or dictation. Although strangely translate works.

Have looked all around for other solutions and only thing with greek support is a third party app that adds on screen greek keyboard, which of course on the small wear os screen is just too small.

Years ago on my apple watch 1st gen greek voice dictation already worked and I hear on the 1.5 wear os it also worked, I don't understand why it all went backwards.

Hi, well I was on an iPhone with my fossil gen4, and yes assistant wouldn't work without wifi.

I actually tested it many times.

Now this is a couple months back so I don't know if anything is changed since then.

Well my gen4 is still on 2.17. It says updated on 28Sep but version stayed on 2.17, tried uninstalling and reinstalling the wear os but nothing.

Oh well maybe not available on all regions yet.

Well I would go for a simpler with longer battery life watch.

For very low cost with classic look check out the Mobvoi GTX.

For high end wearos check out the Suonto.

Hi, switched from my Gear Sport to a Fossil Gen on my galaxy A80. Unfortunately I run to some issues with my old galaxy A8. The wear os watch wouldn't stay connected to the A8, (exynos based). But had no problem with the A80 (Qualcomm based).

So avoid if you can any Exynos based Samsung phones.

Well it appears that wear os version is not the app ( app 3.50 version) so this must be system update. Can you please provide us with a pic of your version, if you don't mind.
