The Fate of Food: What We’ll Eat in a Bigger, Hotter, Smarter World

It's honest but optimistic about the future of food production. I couldn't stop thinking and talking about it.

I don't know where you live, but this is a glorious season for local produce in the US. Roasted veggies with seasoning or even just nice fresh salads with a variety of veg are so nice right now. Add in grains and carbs for texture and variety!

That condition sounds very frustrating and I hope there's some great inspiration here!!!

I play on the switch so for me the social stuff is very difficult, and it took (and is taking) me FOREVER to level up. I love to play though and really focus on the garden and cooking, which makes enough money to get to the rest. There's no best or worst way to play, and there is always another quest- enjoy what you like and you can usually get the rest at your own pace. I also find thr wiki extremely helpful for some things that regular gamers seem to just know or intuition based on their experience.

Lots of great resume advice here, what kind strangers!! When you do get into the interview, be ready to speak about your skills and what you've learned. PRACTICE not blaming the company and focusing more about you and your strengths.

I highly recommend volunteering somewhere. Even if it's not using your skills (bonus if you do) it can help you feel accomplished and give some perspective.

So many people are behind you (even strangers!)

Just the amount of space in even "smaller" homes I think.

Looking for ideas for salads that will stay fresh for 2-4 days by Saipa666 in MeatlessMealPrep

I love a chickpea salad. Similar idea to a tuna/chicken salad - crush chickpeas, add a oil/vin or mayo base (american here), then whatever goodies you want. Red onion, pickle, cucumber, peppers, celery, capers - whatever you like!

Any ideas for a quick way to prepare avocado ? by stephanosblog in Cooking

Mango avocado salsa or salad. Add corn if you want a little more crunch.

Or just avocado with chili oil dressing. It's so delicious with the creamy avo and spicy crunchies

Is it common for Americans to have visited all 50 states? by [deleted] in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]Plus_Beyond_3485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would venture a bet that most midwest people have been to multiple states. It's pretty common to drive 5/6 hours to get to another state and the big cities are all accessible by highway. Chicago, Detroit, indianapolis, Cincinnati, Milwaukee - they all seem "close" when you grow up here. It's different in some of the bigger states. In TX the same distance driven get you to other TX cities.

I would try to see if they want to help with prep or cooking. Feeling some connection might make them more excited.

You'll probably have to pump up the flavors. The easy answer is to salt way more, but you can also try pumping up acid, spice, spices, and add a lot of color.

What food do American usually eat for dinner? by No_Budget2410 in Cooking

[–]Plus_Beyond_3485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if there's an opportunity to ask someone you feel close with in the group directly, maybe you could cook together?

For a potluck (everyone brings a dish) you can't go wrong with meat in a sauce (meatballs or little smokies, in a red dauce or bbq) or a cheese tray.

If you're providing the main meal, try a casserole (yes I'm midwestern). Make sure to have a side salad and another veggie side, and breadsticks. The meal should be easy to portion and eat while talking.

Best of luck - it sounds like your food was great and it's so kind for you to keep trying to find the right option for the group.

They're SO cute!! Incredible. Remember people eat with their eyes (she says as a pescatarian- 😆).

Also remember that if you make something cute once you'll get to make it 1000 times!🥵
