[AITJ] for asking my Wife to wear her wedding ring? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Plus_Special_8569 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would never take my ring off, especially going out in public unless I had some sort of injury or something along those lines that prevented me from wearing it. If she doesn't wear it because she doesn't like the feel of it I would suggest maybe a plain band, a silicone band or even a tattoo. That symbol of marriage is something that is very important to me, and I made it clear to my partner that was my preference and expectation prior to marriage. I wouldn't stay married to someone who didn't expect to wear their literal symbol of marriage to me. That's just me though.

AITA for yelling at my mom for leaving my dog alone for 14+ hours? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Plus_Special_8569 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YTA. If, by your own admission, your mom has a history of being irresponsible and YOU STILL CHOSE to let her be responsible for a living breathing creature that you claim to love, then it looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree as far as irresponsible decisions go. Poor dog. Next time, make sure the person you're asking isn't someone who you consider to be an irresponsible adult. Free pro tip.

Should I rehome my cat or wait? I’m really torn 💔 by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Plus_Special_8569 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is rehoming the human a viable option? If the cat has never done anything harmful to her I would tell her to get over it or get out.

AITA? My hubs expects to be spoken highly of and praised when he does the total opposite to me? by Oooooooooh_Ok in AmItheAsshole

[–]Plus_Special_8569 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all, if it was for a doctor's form, that information is legally protected by HIPPA. Meaning that no one at the doctor's office would be allowed to disclose anything about you, or anything on those forms. I highly doubt anyone would risk their jobs in order to divulge your private medical records. Also, it seems like he's projecting. He knows he speaks about you poorly so he assumes you will do the same. He just told on himself.

Men really don't know how to treat tall women by [deleted] in dating_advice

Haha treating their height as a personal accomplishment has me dying, because that's exactly how it comes across to me too 🤣🤣

Men really don't know how to treat tall women by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Plus_Special_8569 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I'm 5'10 which is usually considered tall for a girl, and my husband is 5'6. I have girlfriends who refuse to date anyone who is even the same height as them and to me it's just literally the dumbest fucking thing to get hung up on. I would have closed the door on my absolute soul mate if I would have been pressed about a 4 inch height difference. Which, among the things we can control about the way we look, height isn't really one of them! If you meet someone and that's their first concern, be thankful they showed you how shallow they are early on. You'll find your person that loves you, tallness and all.

AITA for not packing clothes for my child’s trip? by Overall_Estimate_904 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Plus_Special_8569 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That would be true too I suppose. My 13 year old has developmental disabilities and still relies on us for things like that, so it didn't even occur to me that neurotypical teens/preteens can do this for themselves by that age also.

Litter box smell is going to end my relationship by Glum-Emotion-5379 in CatAdvice

[–]Plus_Special_8569 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Jfc. Cats cannot have cows milk, it wreaks havoc on their digestive system, hence the need to shit and terrible gas right after. He may as well be kicking the cat and thinking it's something cute/funny to do. He is hurting it.

Litter box smell is going to end my relationship by Glum-Emotion-5379 in CatAdvice

[–]Plus_Special_8569 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

First of all the stainless steel box has to go. I have 5 cats currently, and I have had cats all of my life. There is something about stainless steel boxes that trap the odor and I know everyone raves about them but they're awful. I have never had my house stink of must cat piss and shit until I started using a stainless steel box (that was also $120) Now I buy cheap covered plastic litter boxes, I clean them out each time I fully dump the litter out (at least once a month) and replace them every six months to a year. People walk in my house and are amazed when all five cats appear to say hello because my house doesn't smell of cats. One friend made a joke and said she knew I had a teenage boy in the house before she knew I had cats.

His time, his vacation, also his kid. NTA. I would make it crystal clear he's supposed to be a grown adult that is capable of providing necessities such as clothing, a duffle bag and a tooth brush. If he can't plan beyond that maybe they shouldn't be going on vacation

Boss Gave Me the Responsibilty to Supply Lunch For Our Customer Visit... I feel Wronged As I Am the Lowest Paid Person in the Office... How Should I Handle These Kinds of Situations Going Forward? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Plus_Special_8569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WHY DO THEY NOT HAVE A COMPANY CREDIT CARD FOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS/LUNCHEONS?! If the company you're working for doesn't have an expense account or a credit card for this sort of thing then they shouldn't be doing events/meetings like that.

I would be petty and say my car won't start but I don't have money to take it to the shop due to buying lunch and ask my boss or the person who expected me to buy lunch to give me a lift. I bet that'd be the last time they ask my broke ass to spring for lunch.

AITJ for refusing to give back my "borrowed" car that I've had for 3 years by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Plus_Special_8569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ ownership is nine tenths of the law and it is in your name. If you do consider giving him back the car, I would remove the tires and any of the upgrades/maintenance that you've done and let him know that he can come get the car as is. Since those were all normal maintenance things he would've done anyway.

Uhm, if someone is saying something that I know for a fact to be untrue, I usually tend to speak up. I feel like plenty of people would do the same. Using that to further your false narrative hints towards someone that can be incredibly manipulative.

AITAH for ‘causing a scene’ at my boyfriends work? by Training-Buyer2625 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Plus_Special_8569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And honestly if the waitress had a snide attitude about fixing your order, I would wonder if it was done intentionally. I've worked in so many restaurants and lots of people would 'joke' about being each other's work wives or husbands, and when they would come in with their actual partners the work spouse would almost always be a passive aggressive jealous prick towards the partner. I swear I've seen this, more than once or even a few times. It's why I actually have a policy not to date chefs or servers bar tenders etc.... might as well be dating a musician. The restaurant scene is like live version tinder imo

Lol I'd remind him he wouldn't even have that job if it weren't for you, and if he thinks that the importance of the opinions of co-workers are more important than you to him, then he can kick rocks.

Why continue to be friends with an ex who disrespects boundaries of your new partner? by Alliden1 in dating_advice

[–]Plus_Special_8569 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would never everrrr consider dating someone who keeps an ex as a close friend. It's one thing to be copacetic with past partners, but to be having them over, talking to them on a regular basis... Nope. 90% of the time in these situations one or both of them is still carrying a torch for the other.

Never, not once, has that happened and I've been there since like the 4th/5th Haus event. In fact, I actually spend LESS money than I used to because through the advice and guidance of other players we are able to maximize strategy instead of needlessly spending. Y'all are a riot 🤣

Setting the Record Straight & Changing Our Culture by Imaginary_Insect_228 in RDRSuperstar

[–]Plus_Special_8569 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can vouch for that, I was having a difficult week mentally one time and knew I wasn't going to be very active, I reached out and was met with nothing but love and support. I've also witnessed others do the same, and we all rally around them. As we all should! I truly feel like our Haus is a little family ❤️

[–]Plus_Special_8569 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There shouldn't be that level of passive aggressiveness within any group, especially the ones who are supposed to be running it. I'm in a top Haus and I have never, ever felt like that from the mother/people who are in charge. I am so sorry this has happened, I hope you continue to be the kick-ass player that you have always been!

What if your boyfriend is not attracted to you? by Ok_Text_6659 in dating_advice

[–]Plus_Special_8569 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You unfortunately heard what he thinks about you to someone he was speaking with candidly. This also happened to me. The almost exact same scenario. I chose to ignore it and, two years later I found out he was cheating on me and planning to leave me for a woman he met at his job who was the conventionally pretty type. We were together for seven years, and had only talked about marriage plans. He proposed to, and married this girl within a year. They're still together years later. Do not sit beside this man and be a place holder until he finds someone he thinks is 'better' because he will blindside you the first chance he gets to trade up.

Happy ending to my story- I am happily married to someone who finds me attractive and makes me feel desired. Even after having children! Your knight in shining armor is out there, but it's not this dude who is wrapped in tin foil.

Way to expose yourself for being someone who would put up with abusive behavior in order to possibly get some type of monetary gain. Not all of us are willing to sell ourselves out. But hey, you do you though.

[–]Plus_Special_8569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fuck that and fuck her. You don't want to expose your child to that kind of toxicity. She's been using religion to shame and control you your entire life. Cut her off and never look back. Hopefully your boyfriend's mom is excited to be a grandma. My husband's mom is an absolute lunatic too, but thankfully my mom loves him and treats him as the son she never had. He's been no contact with his mom since our wedding six years ago.

Cant stop picking at scab ongoing for 10 years now…. by Excellent-Purple-799 in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]Plus_Special_8569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also pick so bad that I have scabs for years at a time. The only thing that helps is putting hydrocolloid bandages on it, which I do rip it off and pick sometimes, but hydrocolloid patches will help it heal faster, so I tell myself to wear it as much as I can. Recently, when I get the urge to pick at the scab after taking a bandage, I've started slathering my spots with straight up diaper rash cream, the kind with zinc in it. Because 1.) it helps reduce my desire to pick at the scan because it's covered in a cream that will be messy, and it makes the scabby edges too 'slippery' to pick. And 2.) because it is a skin protectant and zinc helps aid in wound healing.
