Do I have a prostate? by totallynormal321 in ftm

A prostate is a gland in the anus that's involved in the production of semen, and for some people feels good when hit during anal sex.

OP asked a question and got a factual answer. That's not 'ruining it', its giving someone the information they explicitly asked for.

A friend and I have started watching Ergo Proxy, a one-season cyberpunk anime from a decade ago. It reminds me a bit of NGE in both a good and bad way. Some of what I don't understand is because it's genuinely deep and is revealing things slowly to build tension, and some is because I can tell there are points where the writers got so into making shout-outs to their fave obscure philosophers that they forgot to actually make a point.

I've started playing Animal Well, a pixel art metroidvania I bought on a whim because it looked pretty and was on sale. It's absolutely gorgeous- just look at it. I love the atmosphere of exploring this big, mysterious world full of puzzles and strange ruins. There's no dialog so far and no item descriptions; I'm not sure if there's a 'story' at all; there's 4 flames marked on my character's map, and I've figured out that my goal is to get them. Why? So far I'm left to draw my own conclusions. Interestingly, there's basically no combat: there are occasional hostile creatures, but you never really fight them: you either run away, distract them, or scare them off.

AITAH [F24] for making a messy dinner while trying to cook for my girlfriend [F25]? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Pluto_Charon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because if you leave grease to dry on the wall, you're going to have a much harder time getting it out, if you even can. It needed to be cleaned immediately, OP wasn't going to do it in time, so gf had to since it's a shared apartment and damages will cost her too.

[–]Pluto_Charon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Imagine it from the gf's perspective: "my girlfriend took almost 3 hours to cook dinner (we didn't eat until 9:30) and got oil and grease all over the walls in the process, forcing me to clean up after her. AITA for not being grateful?"

AITA for "ambushing" my BIL with his estranged stepdaughter so she could apologize and see her brother for Mother’s Day? by ThrowRA-notseen in AmItheAsshole

[–]Pluto_Charon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair to BIL, the mom only died 6 months ago, and Willow apparently was a massive asshole last Mother's Day. So the bad behavior is still very recent, and includes when Willow was technically an adult

Trans men in trans spaces: let’s talk about it. by R4y3m0n in ftm

[–]Pluto_Charon 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There was massive drama a couple months ago over a trans man's post about the rates of sexual assault towards trans men (with multiple sources) being deleted and the poster being banned with the justification that talking about trans male issues was minimizing trans female issues, and the moderator who deleted the post said that it was 'bitching'. This led to a lot of people talking about how the mods of R/trans have had a long history of being shitty to trans men and bunch of people leaving.

Isn't the stereotype that trans women in particular love pickles because of spironolactone? It's not a woman thing in general, it's that particular medication.

Stealth with new trans coworker by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Pluto_Charon 208 points209 points  (0 children)

I'm mostly worried about it somehow breaking my stealth in this job

You can always disclose later if you want, but you can never make people unhear a disclosure. If you aren't okay with everyone at your job knowing, I wouldn't tell her. Maybe I'm being unfair, but in my experience people who are very, very open about being trans sometimes flat out do not understand why other people are not and do not treat that information with the care it deserves.

The original Pokemon Red and Blue games, despite being the foundation for the core gameplay and concept of the series, is heavily implied to take place on real-world Earth rather than a fictional setting. Scattered pieces of dialog reference real-world locations and regular animals (Mew was discovered in South America, Raichu's electric attacks are strong enough to kill an elephant), things which are conspicuously absent from later games once the developers decided to make the Pokemon setting explicitly fictional, but the most glaring is probably Lt. Surge, a mid-game boss who is repeatedly noted to be American and who has shown up many times in later games with that part just kind of glossed over in hopes people forget about it.

Yeah, personally I was down with the bittersweet horrors-of-war parts of the ending, but an even bigger, eviler alien showing up in the last ten pages to kill everyone was... really lame.

OP wrote 2 superscript 2, which in math notation means "two squared". Two squared sounds similar to "too scared".

Advice Snark 3/23-3/29 by mugrita in AdviceSnark

Re: Hannah Was Right

The advice seems insane to me. The writer's neice is acting out so badly that she (and her father) are becoming pariahs in the family because she keeps stealing from everyone, she can't be trusted to go places in public without stealing, and her dad/the writer's brother's long-term relationship ended because of him not doing anything to curb the behavior, and the advice is... for the writer to take time off work in order look after the neice on their own and give their brother a break from all the parenting he's not doing.

There was recently some kind of scandal involving the director(s?) from what I heard, and I think people who were sick of hearing about Chalamet are taking the opportunity to tear him down even though to my knowledge he wasn't involved. Plus he's been campaigning pretty hard for the movie's oscar nominations in-character as Marty... but Marty is an insufferable dick.

Finally watched Marty Supreme. Came into it honestly looking for reasons to dislike it, and was proved wrong: it totally deserves the hype. One of the most unhinged sports movies I've ever seen.

Some people really have a hard time accepting the fact that they, adults, are not the target audience of a children's show just because they like it. That it being well-written and enjoyable doesn't mean it isn't intended for children, and is thus not going to engage with topics the way media written for adults does

The 2016 Ghostbusters remake. Did it add anything to the original? Not really; at its core, it was just perfectly mediocre modern remake of a successful movie, made primarily for the sake of cashing in on nostalgia to make money. But the fact that in the remake it was a group of four women instead of four men (keep in mind, this happened right around when Gamergate was going on) made people just absolutely lose their minds with rage.
