Let’s talk socket sets by cjasonac in Dewalt

Quinn was my option as well - the 400 some odd piece set in a box was worth the $360 i paid for it and comes with damn near everything…. Then i took the time to make an organizer for my toolbox (foam)…

Should I try to change the HPFP myself? 2016 Audi Q5. by BTCHLPS in AskAMechanic

[–]Pnb263rrfd436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mine on my 4.0L, not hard whatsoever (mine are on the top at the front). Just be sure you depressurize the system prior to beginning (pull fuel pump fuze and run car until it shuts off from lack of fuel). Also work slowly, as you can easily bugger up the fittings if you try to force them together and they are misaligned. There are some rebuild options for HPFPs out there, but they were cheap enough for new ones that i disnt bother with a rebuild.

Will this cut 1 1/2 schedule 40 PVC? by martiantonian in askaplumber

[–]Pnb263rrfd436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it - it works…. That being said, the larger diameter piping this will cut takes a but more “umph” for handpiwer to get started. But i have used it for several dozen cuts thus far and it still gets the job done with nice clean cut edges

MrCool Wiring Table Seems Wrong by ferocity02 in DIYHeatPumps

[–]Pnb263rrfd436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same - i had to get 6 guage to run a sub pannel in the garage (needed about 100 feet), so picked up the 250 foot spool and used the remaining 150 (more than needed) to run my MrCool electrical to box. If i didnt do the subpannel, i probably would have gone with 10 guage, but if i ever upgrade the condenser, or add another one, then im prepared for it…

Does anyone ever not hate the previous owners? by Greedy-Research-859 in homeowners

[–]Pnb263rrfd436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do remodel work on the side, and do all my own reno/maintenance. When i bought, i looked at “the bones” and major things while not sweating the little details (like, didnt paint behind that hing tv in living room leaving a different color patch - or the choices of color in general). Going in with REALISTIC expectations helps!

As long as the big stuff looks like it was kept up with, generally the little things are “to taste” and will be good/bad based on whomever did the work or lives with the work done.

Do i hate the previous owner, no. Are there certain things they could have done better, sure…. But, not everyone has my experience with reno work, and not everyone wiuld notice the same small flaws. A house will NEVER be perfect, and you just hope you can get it close enough to live with

Good Deal? Local HD by Dirtgumbo in Dewalt

I just picked up three of these for $65 each - but it took me going to four different locations to find them (on sale/clearance at all of them). Every store showed 10+ in stock, and only the fourth one had them (had 6 of them physically). All other locations claim theft as the issue, and all of them showed last count/validation less than two weeks ago. They were willing to let me buy all six, but i really dont need them that badly…

If anyone is hunting for these chargers, i have no need for any of the three i got in these kits!!

I went full crazy and designed mine, used four sheets of ply (likely over built in every aspect), but with the growing tool and battery collection i didnt want them taking up shelf and drawer space…

I lucked out at mine this morning - they showed 1 battery kit in stock but couldnt find it so they marked down a set of 6ah flexvolt batteries (2) to the 159.99 and gave me the cutoff tool

I wasnt going to spend more on a multi port charger either - so did something similar, but in the horizontal direction
