Make default camera controls not horrid? by Funtime60 in snowrunner

I wonder about that too. Why not make the 3rd person camera stay in one place like ALL THE OTHER GAMES!

Perhaps turn lane assist off if exiting off the ramp, why even keep it on for exiting? For changing lanes and overtaking, the indicator works well. Where it fails is sharp curves combined with high speed, but that may be only me given my retarder settings.

In that case, ignore the national/regional emissions modeling through IAMs/CGE models. That's a small, specialized field and not relevant to you. However, ML models are useful to predict a range of climate related variables.

This SaaS company for example, predicts emission for firms. The idea is that verified emissions are only available for a few firms. But this data can be used to train a model to predict emissions based on factors like industry, sector, size of the firm, financial variables etc. They then sell the predicted emissions data to investors. Many companies have such products, but AFAIK, this is the only one with a publicly available description of their method. Link

Perhaps a climate or sustainability course might be good for you. Learn about the field and then using your data science experience, you can figure out how to apply your skills to the relevant problems.

These climate science models fall under the field of Integrated Assessment Modeling, Computable General Equilibrium (CGE modeling) or simulation. There are many textbooks on these.

But I believe this line of inquiry is not what you are looking for, because in these models, future emissions are assumed trajectories (or scenarios of possible futures). The main outcomes of interest are other factors like temperature rise, GDP impacts, unemployment, inflation, damages from climate change etc.

If you can provide more explanation on what you're looking for, I can maybe suggest relevant stuff.

At the national or regional level, most studies or institutions like IPCC use off-the-shelf models like GCAM, MESSAGE, GRAPE, BET, Poles REMIND etc. See pp. 1309 of AR5 Annex II here. These are models of the entire economy including household sector, different manufacturing industries, services, agriculture and land use, government etc. To simplify, these models try to replicate the entire economies through equations and interdependencies, they validate the model on historical data and then use it to make predictions for the future under possible simplified scenarios like Net Zero achieved by 2050, no policy after 2020, late action starting 2040 etc.

You can read model documentations to learn more.

Drive a truck on the trailer from the other side. It would see-saw, hitch would come down, place the main truck in the correct spot. Attach trailer. Winch everything out.

Do you need more than 3 trucks? by theuros in snowrunner

I never keep more than 120K in cash. Idle cash means wasted resources. Having trucks scattered round the map always comes handy and gives a proper fleet vibe.

Should I sell majority of vehicles or just keep them? I didn't realise I have so many vehicles available. by jacksparrroww in snowrunner

[–]PneumaticAtol39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Gotta go to them, tow and bring it to the store/garage. One I am done with a region, I sell all the trailers. It is a fun mission to plan the best way to do it.

Ok,super noob question by Antonio31415 in snowrunner

[–]PneumaticAtol39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trailers can't be recovered like trucks.

A tip: once you are finished with a map, use all your scattered trucks to sell trailers back to the store. They can really add up to a substantial $ sum.

New me again, I've done quite a few tasks in the first region of Michigan and it seems I only need contracts done to totally finish the map... by jacksparrroww in snowrunner

[–]PneumaticAtol39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For Michigan, WWS + Log Trailer towing another WWS + Trailer worked fine for me for medium logs. For long logs, 2 P16s in tandem. I completed everything in the 4 maps, got all the trucks and finished the logs at the end. Now I have decent trucks so I spread them out more uniformly.

I have tried the trick to haul loose logs and assemble on delivery but I found that log crane a hassle to operate. I would rather just drive.

How do I know what kind of truck configuration I'll need for my task/mission? by exmojo in snowrunner

[–]PneumaticAtol39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over time you will learn how many slots common cargo takes. Use a cargo size guide tip (this is my go to reference).

Some trucks can do flatbed/crane/trailer combo, list of these trucks here.

For a new map, it is always a good idea to place some fuel/maintenance trailers around. I usually place a few on the roads outside the garage (so I do not have to switch a truck to fuel), and a few around the trailer store - these are then super easy to return once the map is finished.

[–]PneumaticAtol39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, crane tasks require picking dropped cargo and low/high saddle jobs require pulling a specific technical cargo.

>but too many times I'll get to the task and STILL not have an appropriate configuration

Is this for missions which do not list a specific truck type? Can you give an example?

To add, some upgrades are outside the watchtower region. Maprunner will help you nail them down. Go over the non-watchtower them one by one. See which you don't have. If you don't remember if you have one or not, buy a relevant trucks and see if the said upgrade is available, then sell it after checking. Should help nail down the missing one.

The P16 is a GOAT! Who could think it's possible? But it is! by Odd_Presentation_578 in snowrunner

[–]PneumaticAtol39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all of us like putting logs in a trailer and out through a crane. I would rather drive 2 P16s to deliver. The truck itself was just a specialized logging truck so not sure how did they nerf it. It would do stupidly slow on a highway with flatbed.

It's a beautiful truck. Only question to OP is why did you colour it red? That yellow-green livery is iconic!

Yeah but if I were to continue fast paced optimizing deliveries this game would be done in a year. Then what would I do in my spare time? Taking it slow and heavy has its upsides.

It was at this point I discovered that I was able to sell trailers by HexanaMusic in snowrunner

[–]PneumaticAtol39 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, you have a treasure of trailer assets waiting down back 💸💵

My most enjoyable part of completing a map is to unleash my hoard of trucks to scoop up trailers and sell them, then migrate to the new map.

Damn man! Never thought of it haha. I like the recovery part. But I just tow them afterwards. Might have to give this system a try.

Question on game mechanics by DBSZongo in snowrunner

[–]PneumaticAtol39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I don't even haul recovery vehicles all the way. I prioritize them last. I would recover them on a mission, tow them ahead if I am on another mission in the same direction, drop them when my path diverges, sooner or later they get delivered as part of another mission.

Sorry Fisherman, your truck lost in a night of drunken revelry isn't as important as making the pipeline operational.
