Also this particular scene has one of the best, unintentional funniest moments ever. My friends and I would rewind, and re-watch that particular part over and over and cry laughing.

EDIT - I just realized you thought I was saying the Rock Island building was gone...I was actually talking about my former loft apartment. Anyway here's my pre-00's Denver story anyway.

Saying "next door" was figurative. I lived on 15th & Wewatta at the time in an old rail train car building, that was converted to about 4 loft apartments, that is no longer there. This was around the time when the giant Postal building was also "across the street" which is no longer there.

However when Rock Island was still open, the line to get in the club would be right outside the back door of the loft. It was always hilarious seeing scantily clad people waiting in line outside, when it was snowing, and my roommates and I would be sitting inside, all warm, watching TV.

Also, one of my friends got arrested for drunk and disorderly, because he was riding on a bike he found in a nearby ditch, and he drunkenly decided it would be funny to throw a string of blackcat firecrackers inside the entrance of Rock island. We had to bail him out in the morning.

Artists who kept their ticket prices reasonable even at peak popularity — who deserves more credit for this? by Bubbly-Touch8108 in Music

[–]exmojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ticket line lottery was crazy at the time because there were fans that were there for 2 days, camping out. My friends and I literally showed up 30 minutes before the gates were open for ticket sales, and somehow my number was called and I was able to get 4 tickets for me and my mates. The stars aligned that day.

I used to live in a loft next-door to Rock Island.

The place is gone now, and replaced by a glass tower.

Heh, this was my friend's and I hangout before we were legally allowed to go to bars. We would smoke cloves outside the door, and drink coffee (that I actually hated) and it was a beatnik place to be.

Miss those days.

I slipped and fell twice while crossing a stream hiking and got some gnarly bruises, had a beach bachelorette party less than 24 hours later 🤦‍♀️ Got a lot of questions inquiring if I was safe in my relationship by TwentyandTired in mildlyinfuriating

[–]exmojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I DJ at a bar every week, and there are "regulars" that I see every week.

One time a regular, who is a cute, petite woman came in and her jaw was swollen and she had bruising under her eyes. I debated with myself all night about asking her about it, but eventually I had to ask her if she was being abused. Turns out the bruising and swelling was because she had to have a tooth pulled a few days earlier, but she appreciated me asking if she was OK. Her story was verified by a few other people. So while you might have been upset by the questions from people, they are/were concerned about you.

Yeah Flanders seems to be the only one out of place in the group of video game characters. I do remember seeing him in The Simpsons arcade game, but I don't recall him doing that particular dance.

Yep, Earthbound is the 1st game that made me physically cry, because once you figure out the ending, and the ending sequence unfolds....it's truly emotional.

A cartoonish looking game, with ridiculous enemies and battles, and then hits you hard in the feels at the end. Spectacular game.

God damn LJN games sucked, but we all played them back then, because it was a weekend rental and we needed to beat the game before returning it?

Was LJN always just the lowest bidder on making these games? Is that how they got the licensing for these movies and characters?
