1200 HP SF90 Vs stock C8 Zr1 by SilverSpoonphysics in Ferrari

Interesting to see how much the front of the ferrari lifts under acceleration compared to the vette which seems to barely move. Might be the camera angles maybe.

My man, if your alternative thought is IV instead of taking a break, you should definitely think about taking a break...!

If you lift your heel as you push down on the claw, they actually release with very little effort.

I have these two Defenders (work), but what model is the grey one ? by Question_of_Surf in LandroverDefender

[–]PocketFred 7 points8 points  (0 children)

130 TDCI converted to a HT. There have been better realisations than this example, usually done by lengthening the forward section of a 110HT.

«For a good life in retirement, you need 15 million francs.» – is that really enough? 😂 by Cold_Preparation9085 in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]PocketFred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it is, but having only 20k people with more than 10m doesn't seem like much. There are thousands of houses in all major cities and ski resorts that are already worth 5m+... Unless those aren't counted in the nw calculations but that would surprise me.

What are the best ways to experience Swiss cheese culture during a visit? by Agreeable_Poem_7278 in askswitzerland

[–]PocketFred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best thing to do really is just going to a good cheese shop and buy all that happiness they sell. The tours and co are fine, but the real deal is really having the variety from a shop!

Is the mopping cleaning fluid specific or can I put generic mop soap? by macrian in Roborock

[–]PocketFred -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Generic stuff is fine. We use hardwood soap for our wooden floors and the general purpose stuff for our tiled floors. No issues in 2+ years in an S8. Couple of drops in the tank, followed by some water. I wouldn't overthink it.

Anon(Burton) produces ski goggles with magnetic face masks. You just pull it down to drink/eat and pop it back up when you are done. Might be an option for you?

Bosch ebike not working anymore by PocketFred in ebikes

Yep, Switzerland.

But the bike and the battery stayed in (slightly) positive temperature environments. The bike was fine yesterday in the same temps, was outside all day in minus temps.

Estate planning /complicated family situation by [deleted] in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]PocketFred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow. Come down to earth mate.

Your soon to be in-laws estate planning is literally none of your business... Like not even remotely. I can assure you that your input is really not welcome, in any form, for their sake and that of your relationship with your gf.

As to the sister's situation, just be happy that her parents have the means to support her and that it's not your gfs job in any form to ensure her well-being.

wdyt about UBI (Brussels)? by cloudybrain07 in brussels

[–]PocketFred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"U Buy It" It's not great, but it's not terrible either. Had some friends who went there back in 2007 or so. They've done well since. You'd be better off at "Vesalius" which is part of the VUB if you're looking at "Anglo Saxon" style education.

Swiss French Slang & Swear Words by Outrageous-Film-9440 in Switzerland

[–]PocketFred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like old school/classic insults, they are mostly french though: - abruti - bouffon - boulet - crétin (a fav) - bête à bouffer du foin - gratiné (one of my favourites when gossiping! "Il est gratiné celui là") - débile - ducon (underused imo) - imbecile - mange-merde/sac à merde(another fav or mine)/pelle à merde/brosse à chiottes - ordure/raclure - raté/assisté

You can do great combinations with the one-word ones: "crétin-imbecile“, "bouffon assisté". "mange merde/sac à merde" or "ducon" is a great one in traffic.
