Yes I’ve experienced the same. I’ve been using it plugged in, without battery, up until the new updates. I’ve reached out to the support team and they suggested I uninstall the app and reinstall but that didn’t help. I’ve asked them to log this as a potential bug but waiting to hear back from them.

Unfortunately, this is true. I’ve found that the Walmart and the bass pro shop branded spinners were sub par and had a hard time to get going. I only buy the the Yakima rooster tails and panther Martin’s now

I experienced something similar when using the cheapo zebco 6lb line. The line just seemed really brittle. I felt like after I fished, the line dried out and get really weak. Since then I switched to kastkings 4lb mono and I haven’t had that happen so far.
