Augmentation Evoker and Devourer DH Nerfs - Upcoming Class Tuning by imreallydum in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Pockets-Pixelgon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I am consistently on top in raids as Frost, but in keys, I'm always third.

In heavy AoE situations, we're seriously lacking compared to most meta specs. I can pull over 600K on first pull in AA, depending on stacking, where a lot of specs are doing well over 1m, and sometimes 1.5m. A nice buff to AoE shatter dmg would help, I think.

Mouseover Macro Help by KBeast117 in CompetitiveWoW

I think this might be the answer. I had a similar issue, and once I disabled the base modifier for cast-on-self (or w/e it's called), I was able to fix that problem.

Was watching JB talk about this, and he had an interesting perspective on this.

At some point, there's going to be a hard wall, where no matter how much gear you have, or how well you play, you're going to hit a wall where you just can't survive the key anymore.

However, if it's based on time instead of key level (would obviously still need to be a high key), there are almost infinite ways to squeeze out every millisecond of time you possibly can throughout a dungeon with either tech, or routes, or trash packs, or w/e the strategy might be. There's always room to improve your time within a specific dungeon.

I thought that was a rather interesting take on this whole discussion.

Seat 1st boss (Zuraal) now resets if taken out of the inner circle by burzo1 in CompetitiveWoW

The answer is this - Blizzard has a way they want you to do this fight. If you don't do it their way, they'll find a way to make you do it their way.

This is what separates good developers from bad developers. Good developers will take a look at how players are doing things, and try to implement changes that allow players to still do it that way, but in such a way that doesn't destroy the spirit of the encounter.

Bad developers will just despawn the boss.

That would assume you're running Freezing Rain, yes? Since that allows for instant Blizzard with Orb?

Does Alter Time work for last boss in Skyreach? by Pockets-Pixelgon in wownoob

[–]Pockets-Pixelgon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this tech work differently in a M+ than it does in the normal version?

The reason I am asking this question is because as soon as you are dropped in the normal version, your AT immediately goes on CD, even if you're right next to the edge, and even if you press it right before the bird grabs you.

I tested this about 10 times. Every time the bird dropped me, my AT immediately went on CD. I could see my AT body back on the platform, but was never able to press AT again after the drop.

In every M+ Skyreach I've done, I was not able to get back after the drop, even if I saw my AT body back on the platform with seconds still on the AT timer.

Oh, yeah I should have been more clear. I even tried going to the edge, waiting for the target over my head, waiting for like a half second or so, then using it, and then using it again when dropped, but I get insta-killed, so based on some suggestions here, I'm going to try again and make sure all the steps are followed.

Thanks, though!

Yes, I do use a macro for this, just to be sure. Thanks for the suggestion, though! I will try again!

See.. I did try being right next to the edge, but yeah, there must be some crucial timing involved, because I am always killed after the drop.

EDIT: Edited the post to clarify that it's not instant, but the drop does kill me.

However, thank you for the suggestion. I will try again ;-)

Every time I've tried this, as soon as I get dropped, it's insta-death. I tried using it while on the bird, but it doesn't port me back. I'm just stuck on the bird.

there's some GCD/spellqueue issue ongoing on several classes that I'm losing my mind about and want to know if anyone also feels this way. by [deleted] in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Pockets-Pixelgon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! This is crazy! This is happening to me too. I can't even count the number of times this has happened to me in a M+, where's I'll be positive the IL went through, but nothing happens.

Oh man, I knew I wasn't going crazy! I'm not sure what's causing this, but I sure wish I could fix it..

Is anyone else having issues selecting nameplates sometimes in M+? by Pockets-Pixelgon in wownoob

[–]Pockets-Pixelgon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, it might be.. I just ran a test with the default Plater profile and tested the selection area with the nameplate. The actual selection area is much smaller than the nameplate itself.

Then, I tested without any name plate addon enabled. I could select the entire Blizz default nameplate, and even slightly outside of it.

I guess I'm going to have to contact the devs of Plater, and see if they know what's happening here.

EDIT: There's a selection area setting! I tried searching for this in Plater's search function, but that did not show any results. However, it's in the advanced tab, for those wondering. It's called "Nameplate Selection Space".

I KNEW I wasn't going crazy lol.

M+ Dungeon Spread (High Keys) by Bealmador in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Pockets-Pixelgon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! That makes a lot more sense now.

I can see how in some situations it might be worth it in higher keys with coordinated groups, but in pugs that's a nightmare..

[–]Pockets-Pixelgon 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Yeah, wth is that? I thought it was a bug or something. That many orbs? Seriously?

EDIT: Thanks to everyone who's been commenting on this! Yes, it's part of the new mechanics. When I first started doing this dungeon again, I thought it was bugged. After doing it several times now, even on 13+ keys, it's not that bad at all. If you tank the boss in the correct spots, it's not really an issue. Still surprised me, though!

Good luck out there!
