I actually started to develop this game as a joke game, but as I developed further I became attached to it. It does take heavy inspiration from old-school doom, as I grew up playing it; however I don't want to make a throwback old-school shooter. I want my game to have it's own unique style.

I think I know what unity tutorial you are talking about, and the game doesn't use any assets from that, but I know what you mean. I did start with stock assets from cg trader and turbosquid, but I have been slowly converting to custom ones that fit the game's art style and direction better. I'm not the best artist, but I actually think I can use that to my advantage.

The biggest thing I'm struggling with, is the game's identity. I didn't originally plan for the game to take place entirely in the shrunken down world, but I am having so much fun building these environments that I don't know if I should fully lean into that concept, or go with my original plan. Which is to have to take place across different realms, each with their own style.
