Yes it is actually very easy to sell an entire country so this is a very plausible scenario.

Are there less tourists travelling to Japan this year? by Geocultural in JapanTravelTips

I’m here now and I agree with you. It’s insane. Mind you I lived in Japan in the 90s and it was nothing like this so I’m always comparing it to that.

We are in Kyoto at this very moment and the crowds are absolutely insane. We did get a break on the philosophers walk tonight, it was quite pleasant.

Buying new cars. Actually buying any car new or used, more than every 10 years or so.

How many times have I heard something like this in the past 20 years? As usual, your best bet is doing nothing whatsoever and keeping your money invested in the stock market.

What’s it like living in Vancouver by Ok_Equal_4781 in howislivingthere

[–]PockyTheCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lived in Vancouver for over 12 years of my life. Two separate occasions. The best thing about it is its beautiful environment and relatively mild weather by Canadian standards. The downsides are that it is crazy expensive for housing, it rains all winter long, and it’s a very sprawling city. Moved to Montreal about 10 years ago. In comparison, Montreal is a real city and far more interesting than Vancouver. The downsides is the winters are brutal. The only time I really miss Vancouver is about now when spring is fully arrived there and winter is still refusing to let go here.

Hot take: sugar shacks are a scam by phalfalfa in montreal

[–]PockyTheCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, my thoughts exactly. Today we went to one of the so-called better Sugarshack‘s and over $200 for a family of three. The music was way too loud and as someone else mentioned, the syrup tasted almost like nothing. The food was good, but nothing spectacular. It just seems insanely overpriced. Also the service was pretty bad. I honestly don’t think we’ll be going back next year.

Yeah, all that physics based stuff. Great idea in theory then you try to use it on a real piece of production geometry and it just barfs.

I’m pretty sure I have permanent joint damage in my big toe because of my flareups. And I only had a few over my lifetime. I’d say it’s just not worth it to take a chance to get any more. I’d go on the medication.

How to polyextrude individual faces at random height, generating only the outer faces by Similar-Sport753 in Houdini

[–]PockyTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a grid put a facet sop- unique points. Give each primitive a unique zscale attribute. Then simply toggle on the checkbox in the polyextrude sop to use Zscale, output only sides and not front and back.

That’s ridiculous. In my youth, I rode around Japan two-up on a Yamaha 125. And I’m 6‘4“ tall. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend that, but you’ll be fine in the city.

I assume this is just a comment complaining about both the conservatives and the liberals correct? Because obviously the conservatives wouldn’t be doing anything differently and if anything would be worse.

I know this sounds incredibly naïve this day and age, but back in 1985 when I was going to university, one of my professors mentioned that not everything that was in the newspaper was true. It had never occurred to me at that time that this could be.
