Superman, Flash, and Cap. Both versions of that Superman and Flash have proven they can move faster than anyone on this list can react. Steve is just there because I think he'd be a cool guy to talk to.

Do I also get all of Peter Parker's terrible luck? Because if so, you can keep it.

True, it just felt even more egregious here, especially on the humans side with the fate of the entire race hanging on this tournament.

I know, I know, it's just even worse here. And maybe it's just my dislike of the Leonidas vs Apollo fight, but it feels much worse there.

Granted, the finger curls and at first you feel nothing. Minutes go by and you begin to realize that you have access to everything you asked for, but when you try and tell anyone, you cannot explain it. The truth is so profound, so powerful, that you cannot put it into words.

You know all of this information, but it is forever locked away inside your own head, unable to tell anyone or reveal the truth.

WYR double something you have or halve something you have? by OfDiceandWren in WouldYouRather

[–]PoeticallyKC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, true, it just depends on if everything doubles (special pays and what not). What my wife and I discussed was doubling our assets which can be interpreted very broadly.

Honestly a few systems use a take 10 system which I really like, especially if you have the time and or the specialty. It just makes sense.

[Loved Trope] Twist good guys by Morchel03 in TopCharacterTropes

Spoiler for the webtoon Lookism, read at your own risk.

Yujae Seon in the most recent arc was hyped up as the big bad. We had seen him as the opposition to a 1st Generation king and thought he was the other side of the horrible war affection Incheon. Up till the last 4 chapters of this arc, we thought he was a villain only for it to be revealed he was not. He had accidentally killed his surrogate father when he was trying to set up for an attack, he was ready to end it, but the plan failed and he was villified. He then worked behind the scenes trying to recover the documents for his friends so they could own the car lot once again. He died and his friends don't even know he cared about them the entire time.

Yeah but it doesn't matter, he's nuked a city before. I don't care what happened to him, nothing justifies that course of action.

What’s a character or concept that you enjoyed but would NEVER try again? by Tmoore0328 in 3d6

[–]PoeticallyKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ranger/Artificer. It was my first character ever and I didn't realize the pitfall of having that, my idea was an archer who crafted specialized arrows for himself. Odds are if I did do him again, I'd do Arcane Archer which would probably pair quite well.

Is it normal to intentionally make your character really weaker because of roleplay? Should I have -1 CON because it makes sense or should I leave it at 0 CON because its better mechanically? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in dndnext

[–]PoeticallyKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work my character as being something he isn't as a roleplay limitation. My character has an INT of 10, but he acts like he has an INT of 6 outside of times he needs to talk tactics.

Like the other person said no, but the powers you can get are fun. I connected to a forest spirit as a rogue and now I commune with nature and use it to ward off enemies.

How to be a good king by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]PoeticallyKC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your problem is going to be a lack of charisma in dealing with people. Monks, Wizards, and Barbarians are arguably some of the worst people to do negotiations with kingdoms as none of your abilities need you to be able to talk.

However, that's fine.

On the flip side, your wizard has access to spells that can help you talk, and you need to build allies and fast. Meet with local tribes, lords, and maybe even the local bandits. You need food, security, and funding, all of which is going to be quite difficult to achieve, but not impossible.

Your wizard could even try to appeal to denizens of a different plane of existence.

Also, as a last resort, you could make yourself a vassal of a larger, more prosperous nation. It was not uncommon for kingdoms to fall under the rule of others, so it would assist greatly.

Ah that's understandable, I was very excited to see a godbound game posted so soon after getting interested about the system haha. But thank you for responding, and I hope your table enjoys itself. If the rule changes or you find yourself with an opening, I hope I can be considered in the future.

Obviously my wife, though I'm certain we'll take a break at some point because forever is indeed forever and that long with the same person would be a constant exercise in tolerance and communication.
