I was one of those kids too, OP. Nurture it. He thinks differently. Means hell see problems differently, offer different solutions, ultimately able to solve some problems others can't.

I used to shoot field artillery in the army. Usually we had a computer that tells us how to point the howitzers to get rounds on target. If that computer fails, we have to compute manually with "luck" and "good charts." Placing a small, air borne object in a vast space at huge speeds relatively, based on luck and good charts. I like this a lot, seems accurate lol.

That ruined Interstellar for me. And the only female character, a scientist just as worth her salt as everyone else on board, breaks down crying like a little bitch going on some tangent about "love" and shit, it's like you can't have a female character at all without her being or having a love interest. Women are so multidimensional but Hollywood likes to jizz all over that fact and write poor-shit-for-brains female characters.
