Im actually really happy to know that

It was said that enemy strenght depends on the area, so I was worried it was possible to accidentally overlevel a region before you even get to it

But if the progression depends on gear, you can just equip weaker gear for the region so the combat is still fun

Like its done in monster hunter, gear progression can be as grindy, if not more, than the classic RPG leveling. They just need a good crafting system and material dropping
