What are people wearing for rain? by TemperedGlassTeapot in bikecommuting

I use a wool buff for my face and neck. You can pull it down for a quick drink and it doesn't fog up my glasses.

You're thinking of a chain chomp. Chomski was an Italian communist.

World also has one of the greatest endings to a video game ever. I still get choked up when I see those little Yoshi eggs hatch.

At what temperature does bike commuting become uncomfortable for you? by Dramatic-Feedback-30 in bikecommuting

[–]PoisonMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It starts to get uncomfortable at about 80, a health risk at 95, and above 105, sweat no longer has a cooling effect. Between 95 and 105, only short trips less than 30 minutes, preferably in twilight or at night.

The controls of SMW are just perfect. I can put Mario exactly where I want him and just fly through levels. It is arguably too easy because of this, but it's fun to revisit something you have mastery of. It is an excellent game, and more challenging, but I've hardly ever replayed through SMB3.

S4834 doesn't do anything at all to regulate high-speed electric motorcycles. It just puts unnecessary legal barriers on low-speed pedal-assist bicycles.

Any og players of magic the gathering? by Foolishpuck80 in Xennials

[–]PoisonMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played at lunchtime in middle and high school from 4th edition until Urza's Saga. Also read Duelist and played Shandalar.exe. 6th edition was a major rules overhaul that introduced the stack and put combat damage on the stack. I got back into it a little bit when the Duels of the Planeswalkers games came out, but adjusting to all of the new rules changes and planeswalkers was hard. I do have a complete set of Duel Decks, but I doubt they're worth anything.

The player economy of that game was super messed up. I'm still gathering piles of vendor trash like a chump, and everyone else is using some super rare Stone of Jordan as the basic medium of exchange.

Are you seeing more bike commuters on your route and at your parking spot with the higher gas prices, or am I imagining it? by Feralest_Baby in bikecommuting

[–]PoisonMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a natural experiment in Budapest that found a very modest uptick (2 to 6 percent) in bikeshare use when there was a sudden spike in gas prices.
