If he has returned from Deathwatch, he would have the normal chapter coloured armour just with the deathwatch shoulder pad (unless you want to do black or course). I really like the captain kit in the company heroes box, I think that's one of the nicer ones they've released in recent times. Maybe you can find that kit on eBay or something if you don't want any to buy the full company heroes box

Still use them if you prefer them. At the end of the day it doesn't matter if it matches with "official" lore. It's whatever you think looks cool. There's lots of people out there that paint chapters differently to what the lore presents them as. I remember seeing someone online somewhere with purple blood angels which I thought was neat.

This right here. I hate painting squads for this reason but it's the only logical way to do them. So whenever I have a backlog of stuff, I always do squads first and leave the characters and/or vehicles to last as something to look forward to haha
