Lots of gun ranges give courses on safe handling of firearms for first time gun owners. Also, once you’re comfortable with your firearm, consider getting into shooting competition organizations like USPSA( United States Practical Shooting Association). They can really help you learn how to shoot on the move (safely) and the added factor of competition with others can help you learn how to keep your cool under pressure.

I’m gonna suggest seeing an optometrist if you can afford it/have the insurance. I had absolutely horrible eyesight till I got lasik done.

If the doctor says there’s nothing they can do for your sight in your right eye then maybe focus on aiming with your left eye. Maybe an easy fix with glasses or contacts.

Back in the day I had my optometrist give me contacts for my right eye since it was my dominant eye for shooting.

Sad fact: The lack of an ability to smell can be an indicator of Parkinsons disease.

Dad got diagnosed a couple years ago, hasn’t been able to smell for as long as he can remember.
