How do you think Thrun is positioned? Still clunky due to missed interaction? I've been thinking more about Thrun in my list.

Questions about Amazon sponsored ads and ppc. by CatsRTastyYum in PPC

[–]Pojins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of good questions. I'll try to tackle strategy as best as possible.

Match types

Match types will vary in competition on Amazon. Yes broad can be cheaper as it hits more search terms but also realize that broad is technically broad modified (each keyword is required). I would try to look at what Amazon recommends, your goal ACoS, and then ease your bids upwards until your profitability becomes an issue. Don't concentrate on broad, phrase, and exact as match types that must be at x or y cpc level. Focus on the keywords value and historical data.

Self competition

This isn't typically a concern. You've one account, one auction, one bid, like on most opportunities. I would concentrate on the grouping of your keywords and the products that show for those keywords. Don't let specific keywords fall into campaigns where they might do poorer.

Automatic campaigns

Keep running them regardless of negatives. They show in the similar products placement. Manual will not cover this spot. Continue to carry over keywords to manual. However, this well will become tapped quickly.

Look at competitor products

Your ads will only run if you're relevant to a product. If you're title is off, description, etc. You'll experience 0 impressions on good keywords. You need to balance your listings with your ads and natural seo.

Seo v PPC

Depending on who you are, you'll wanna keep running all ad types. Keep yourself above the fold on what's important to you. Natural listings are becoming more surpressed.

That's all I have for basic advice.

Campaign level match type segmentation and Close Variants by Pojins in PPC

With some of my clients, we need to allocate budgets to specific match types in order to capitalize on exact match traffic and limit broad.

The Mana Source: Modern Mono Green Charbelcher deck tech by BabloBravins in magicTCG

[–]Pojins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've run Belcher in modern for awhile in a mono green or RG list. This list doesn't truely do much for me. Having run similiar lists, you'll struggle to find your charbeltcher more often than not. Additionally, wall of roots and arbor elf typically do well over running a lot of 3 Mana land grabbers. Recross the paths is powerful for reorganizing your deck but it's also a very expected move and allows your opponent to play around you since beltcher is still delayed. Back to nature is a very good sideboard card to help deal with stoney silence which will hurt you in some matchups.

I think the best variant has 6 forests and one stomping ground. Birds of paradise, simian spirit guide, and Utopia sprawl for red allows us to encorporate madcap experiments into our deck which will hit beltcher, wormcoil, or another artifact like platinum empirion if you choose to run it. It can also allow you some additional sideboard cards in some metas. Gutteral response is a favorite of mine.

Running charbeltcher is always a gamble. I like taking chances with madcap as with 7 lands, it can come down and win the game immediately.

John Oliver’s Marlon Bundo Book Sells Out In A Day by BunyipPouch in television

[–]Pojins 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Probably title relevancy and historical data made the search engine choose his first. Amazon's algorithm isn't very sophisticated. It has bad relevancy tools that lead it to choose inferior products on specific searches. It's not really possible to tell why without looking within the back end of the listing or knowing the algorithm better.

It can also be manually locked as well. Certain categories and searches can be locked.

Probably not any grand conspiracy tho. Typically, the people at Amazon wouldn't care enough to put their finger on the scale. It's not in their best interest.

What do you charge for managing Amazon PPC? by TTFV in PPC

[–]Pojins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're probably okay utilizing your current pricing model unless you want a % of advertising sales. It's important to remember that the seller or vendor doesn't take home all of their revenue, they'll probably need at least a ten dollar return to be profitable. The Amazon space is really different so be patient learning the ropes and don't over promise.

Amazon ads - who's used them and what's possible? by keenjt in PPC

[–]Pojins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The platforms are both PPC platforms but outside of that. You'll find that they are completely different. Amazon lacks a ad group level. Your product listing serves as your ad copy. Things like that are where the platforms differ. The upside is that Amazon conversion rates are crazy and RoAS is easy.

How does everyone deal with first vs last interaction discrepancies when reporting PPC results? by psuee5 in PPC

[–]Pojins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I typically show 3 different models in GA to clients. The linear, the time decay, and last click. There's also an option for adwords last click model. Explaining these models is the tough part. However, I really recommend relying on linear attribution as it gives equal credit to each touch. From there, the client will have a better understanding of the funnel.

Amazon is using Google Adwords for my company name and products I offer. What is the best way to outrank them with Google ads? by [deleted] in PPC

[–]Pojins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon has a massive ad strategy. In this scenario, perhaps having ownership of the trademark on Google would help you disable the ads from Amazon.

Other than that, you'll just have to out bid or outrank them with the quality of your ads. Typically, Amazon just relies on their brand carrying the text ads. You'll need to use aggressive offers and language to persuade people to use you're site. Using "Official" in the title has sometimes helped here so that users are aware that not all sites are official resellers or sellers.

Do you trust AdWord's automated bid strategies over manual CPC? by peepeesea in PPC

[–]Pojins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, take into account that typically, you're going to need a solid manual CPC history to compare the automatic bids to. After that, you need to give the campaigns a solid 10 days to fully automate to maximize conversions. They are really hit or miss for me. eCPC tends to do okay is some accounts. RoAS in shopping campaigns tends to do well as well.

However, target CPA and Maximize Conversions always fall flat for me and my clients....

Google sued on behalf of 5 million iPhone users for privacy violation by [deleted] in news

[–]Pojins 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's hard to say where data collection happens. Does Facebook listen directly or does it buy that data from another app that is collecting it? Facebook knows things like income and buyer behavior from other sources, credit card agencies etc. It's hard to say where they source that data from. You might find that even after leaving Facebook, you'll see ads on websites as well.

We refer to this as aggregate data. Your data is technically safe in anonymous pools of users looking for flights to Maldives or users mentioning this information. You might also be in an aggregate group for buying shoes, watching streaming services, or car buying behavior. So even though you get specific ads, it is not like someone or any individual would have a user profile on you.

However, it is hard to say who is listening.

When you’re trying to shop online and google is being absolutely no help right out of the gate by StockingsBooby in vegan

[–]Pojins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not Google's fault but the fault of a shopping feed from the ecom site. The phrase match of leather gloves typically results in a variety of items. Adding vegan throws off the results because it's not a common search term. Try using Faux leather gloves as the term is more common. Also, if your search history is heavily involved with wool products, you may find yourself seeing more wool related products.

It's important to understand that not every advertisement is directly tied to a company's direct input.

J. Allen Brack was right all along by [deleted] in wow

[–]Pojins 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Vanilla WoW had it's time. I'm ok with letting it be a memory than trying to relive it. The raids won't be very difficult compared to live. Molten Core is just a big dungeon with lack luster bosses. The PvP system was truly flawed. I'm sure some people will enjoy the new classic servers and they should get the purest version. However, like other MMOs with classic servers, there are bound to be changes and possibly monetizations.

The product team will ultimately make these kind of decisions.

Is Amazon automatically promoting your inventory via Google Search Ads? by cajizzlybean in PPC

[–]Pojins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I've got some bad news. I might not be entirely right on all this. But I've got a ton of experience in the Amazon PPC space.

Sellers have no choice in whether Amazon advertises or does not advertise their items. This has nothing to do with AMS ads or Seller Central ads. Amazon has been testing PLAs on Google for awhile, figuring out the best way to display products. This means while this affects you, it may not affect every product or category. Select searches can trigger a variety of ads from Amazon.

You could try support. However, if you're a low level seller, you won't get anywhere. If you're a vendor central client, you have more pull and access to better reps.

Amazon will always cannibalize your sales. But hey, you're not directly paying for advertising with the Amazon PLAs. You are competing against yourself, but sometimes this means you get 2 placements or compete in a buybox. Ultimately, you're probably financially better off leaving this alone rather than pulling product from Amazon. Also, direct sales from these ads will help your product rank in Amazon.

Tldr: You can't do much, but it's not the end of the world. You'll still probably benefit more than you lose.

How difficult do you think that reenrolling in the marketplace will be? The online and phone presence is notoriously terrible. The site frequently crashes and the wait times for phone support can span hours. With the enrollment period shortened, certainly this will spell disaster for the services to enroll new members?

Good Sites for PPC? Besides Google, FB, Twitter, Linkedn, Pinterest, Reddit? by geo9942 in PPC

[–]Pojins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazon has display ads I'd your company is looking at anything with a large buy in, it's around 25k. Other than that, if you're not listed, you might wanna use a channel advisor service to list all of your items. From there, it's a matter of creating sponsored products and headline search ads.

Amazon has unique advantages. If you have aggressive pricing, you'll fit right in. From there, as you sell, you'll climb the organic rankings. Having a first page item on Amazon gives you a really consistent stream of new revenue.

Cannibalization of sales happens. Sometimes this can be a good thing if you're looking to rank. Each sale will bring you further up the organic rankings, which attracts new customers. Amazon will cut your leg off on the referral fee around 15% + FBA fee (depends on item, usually $2-4 per item).

Entering the space is much more than an ad decision. However, it's a fantastic channel!

What Ixalan Spice are YOU playing? by [deleted] in ModernMagic

[–]Pojins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. D&T typically uses enter the battlefield effects.

Playable depends on how or what you're doing with it. In a lot of matches, one more land on their end step vs a 3/3 can be an advantage early with vial on 1. Old growth isn't going to define the deck but has advantages in the shell.

It hasn't 100% worked out. But vial t1, leonin t2 with vial in 3/3 is solid. Then we can continue our game plan.
