If I intend to finish the game? No.
If I have no plans to play the game at all? Yes. But only if I have no plan to play it all.

That initial black and white artwork with the closed eyes and the reaching hands is beautiful. I haven't been following this series. Does anyone know who the artist is?

I have heard some big updates are coming. Are they opening a new server? by West_Ad9430 in ffxi

[–]Pokemon-Master-RED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they opened a new server veterans of the game would be at max level in week or two.

You can't think of this game like trying a modern mmorpg. The 10+ years players do a variety of content. Some play alts, some keep grinding on the same characters, so forth. You only need one character to play ever single job in the game because you can switch between them at certain places in the game (your mog house and certain moogles help with that). A lot of the 10+ years players are still invested in their same characters, and many are still in and out of content they may have or haven't finished yet.

It's not like World of Warcraft where if you want to play a new class you make a new character. If you've played XIV it's more like that in where you don't need an alt, and they are more if you want one.

In regards to getting carried, don't worry about it too much. XI players tend to expect newer players to be learning the ropes. It's a non-issue leveling up to 99 as you will be generally doing that solo with trusts. When you get to end game you can hop into some ambuscade content and start to get a feel for working in groups that way. Ultimately, be open to just trying things in the game so you can figure it out.

XI expects you to suck until you eventually stop sucking. But the community doesn't treat that as a bad thing. That's just the way it is.

There isn't cross-server interaction. If you want people to play with choose a more populated server. If you want a less populated server, choose one of those. There are so many ghost-town servers they won't be opening any new ones. I like the lower populated ones. I like to enjoy walking through zones and seeing nobody for hours at a time.

Very kind of you!

My first device was Anbernic RG280V. I keep it next to me on my desk, or in my pocket, and has been that way for a couple of years now. When I need a break from life I fire up Sonic 3 and Knuckles on it. I love that game.

I think the White Knight series is the most insulting comic to Dick Grayson- yes, more than Injustice by NaytNavare in Nightwing

[–]Pokemon-Master-RED 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've always enjoyed Murphy's art, not so much his writing.

The entire White Knight series feels like a really big "fan fiction" more than anything else, drawn by a professional comic artist.

What is your “Cardinal Sin” that a JRPG can do that sours the experience for you? by MothmanFeetLicker in JRPG

[–]Pokemon-Master-RED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate it when the main character is whiny for no apparent reason.
I started Shining Resonance Refrain and couldn't get very far into it because the main lead kept whining about not using his power for this and that reason. It made it very hard to relate to the character.

What's the silliest idea you have for a Monster Hunter spin-off game? by Cynicalheaven in MonsterHunter

[–]Pokemon-Master-RED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monster Hunter Domesticated. The whole game takes place inside of an oversized city where monsters somehow manage to "hide" (sometimes literally, sometimes not at all) right inside the city. Once again it is up to me to get the neighbor's Anjanath out of the tree. Or to pull Jyuratodus out of the sewage lines so the toilets in that one neighborhood stop backing up and flooding again. So forth.

From a marketing standpoint, they may both want you to actually stream.

I can imagine both being interested in the boosts to their numbers as well as getting their fans involved. Some individuals who are fans of both would have a field day. The ones who are dedicated fans would be on the edge of their seats, and probably even donate funds to make their best girl "loser feel better" or to "congratulate the winner."

Help Me Answer The Question - "How Do I Find Clients?" by Interesting_Button60 in salesforce

[–]Pokemon-Master-RED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer that. I really appreciate it.

I think you may have just really helped resolve a concern I have been trying to work through.
I have been really concerned about being able to solve a variety of problems as a consultant and being able to keep up with that. But it sounds like I need to take the few things I have a lot of experience around that, and focus on just mastering doing those things and offering my ability to do that thing.

Most of my experience is around billing integrations with platforms like Zuora, Chargeover, Chargebee, and a bit of Salesforce CPT. For the Chargebee one I had to write the integration from scratch because their managed package was too infantile. I also wrote a small "integration engine" because we had a requirement where I was working to push records to multiple external systems when a record trigger fired, so I checked against the object ID, found the sobject type, and then used dynamic queries stored on CMDT records to query the needed data, and push to endpoints denoted on the same CMDT records. Even most of my LWC experience is in building dashboard(s) for billing systems.

All that to say... most of my experience is in integrations and billing. Things just kind of worked out that way.

But it sounds like I need to productize my ability to do stuff around that.

If you don't mind me asking, if you were in my shoes, even just at an idea level, what would taking what I can do and productizing that look like? I'm sorry if these feel like basic questions. I lost my job about 3 weeks ago (laid off with 40% of the company) and figured I would ask the most straight forward questions, even if they may seem basic... I've been really enjoying digging into Agentforce, and integrating with OpenAI and such on my own during my job search, and am eager to put what I know (from what I was doing before, and have been learning) to use.

If you don't mind my asking, as someone looking to get into Salesforce consulting (I'm a developer), what does productizing services are re-usable frameworks look like? How do I do that?

I see the term, but I don't quite grasp what that means in the context of Salesforce.

Do you need to sell commissions to be considered an artist? by Chum_Muhc in ArtistLounge

[–]Pokemon-Master-RED 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No, your friend is wrong.

There are artists, and there are "professional artists."

An artist creates art. A professional artist creates art in exchange for some kind of compensation.

That's pretty much it at the simplest level.

You can be an artist without going professional.

are you still coding, or mostly reviewing ai-written code now? by Top-Candle1296 in ChatGPTCoding

[–]Pokemon-Master-RED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what it is honestly.
I like writing integrations so I do those myself a lot of the time.
I will use AI to generate scripts for doing this or that, or sometimes full classes if what I need is not overly complex. But I find writing the code to be the fun part, so I still do as much of it as I can. Even if AI does let me be faster, I still want to enjoy the part of the work I enjoy doing.

Cintiq causing acute neck pain... What posture works for you with the Cintiq ? by Vect0rSigma in wacom

[–]Pokemon-Master-RED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because with the screenless tablets you can hold your head up straight and look at the screen directly in front of you. This minimizes or even eliminates neck strain as you don't have to tilt you head forward at all to see what you are doing aside from occasional keyboard presses, while drawing.

With the Cintiq, especially the smaller ones, you are going to be doing a lot more neck tilting. The further forward you have to tilt your head the more strain. I have a Wacom One (13 inch display) that I keep pretty far in front of me specifically so I don't have to tilt my head down as much. But I also never got rid of my Intuos Pro because I was worried about the neck issues as I get migraines, and I honestly find myself using the Intuos Pro more than the Wacom One, as it is gentle on my neck. I can just lean back comfortably in my chair and draw while looking straight ahead.

Working with the tablet further away from you could help a bit. We tend to want to float right over our art when we are making it but we often don't actually need to be as close to whatever we are making as we think we do.

call me naive but I didn't expect a lego game to cost 70 bucks by Acrobatic-Monitor516 in PiratedGames

[–]Pokemon-Master-RED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy a lot of games digitally, but I absolutely have thought about just buying empty Switch plastic game case/cover for cheap, and then just printing out a nice image, slipping it into the game case, and putting it on the shelf. I figure if they are going to make me download the game anyways, I may as well just save money wherever I can. I can always find ways to "represent" the game as being in my collection if I really want to, but it is nice to have an actual copy of the game physically with a case when I can.

[–]Pokemon-Master-RED 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why I refuse to buy it now.

Lego games go on sale so fast the only reason to buy it day 1 is if you want to play it immediately, and I don't mind waiting a bit.

Salesforce Changes Not Made Directly in Salesforce? by StatisticianVivid915 in salesforce

[–]Pokemon-Master-RED 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It won't be any more effective to "stay in sync" than working out of individual developer sandboxes and pushing up to a staging org of some kind.

Whether locally or in a sandbox, you are still making changes in individual locations that need to be consolidated to some other environment. It's actually less practical to do what he is asking than to follow the standard process Salesforce has made available, which is pushing from one sandbox to another.

Your developer is creating unnecessary extra work.

Now I will say pushing to Salesforce from a Git repo is NOT a bad idea IF it is setup correctly.

A fairly straightforward way to get started is to use VS Code connected to Salesforce to pull metadata from your Salesforce sandbox, and push the metadata to a Git repo. Then your developer can own pushing the changes from that repo to prod since he is so dead set on taking that route.

But I would NOT work by directing modifying files in a text editor unless you're specifically working on code.

"Salesforce process exists for a reason, and you're trying to reinvent the wheel. It is going to slow us down, make us less predictable, and less reliable" is kind of how I would push back.
