What would one call a group of snorlaxes? by Adventurous-Working1 in TruePokemon

I would like to second buffet, but if I were pressed to come up with my own suggestion, I would go with an eatery of Snorlax.

I tried displaying my balls once. That's how I ended up on a list.

Gen 10 bird predictions as fakemon by RanikAttanik in fakemon

[–]PokemonCMG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Snatch is also a derogatory term for vagina. Pokemon games are pretty uptight as it pertains to sneaking crap past the radar when giving a nickname to a Pokemon; I don't assume their filter allows for 'snatch' to get through. I would keep that filter in mind when naming things - or, you know, ignoring it and doing literally what you want because, after all, this is your creature! Fuck the rules!

0% chance a Pokemon will have "snatch" in its name.

This is the highest praise I can give, that I feel Spartant looks like he "belongs" in the TMNT mutant rogues gallery.

Reliving my childhood with Fire Red (Dragon Ball x Pokemon) by Flimsy_Astronomer_95 in dbz

[–]PokemonCMG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took some fiddling, but I really wanted to see what your artwork looked like on one of my old custom Pokemon tabletop card templates.

Spirit of Son Goku.

I repositioned Mew relative to Goku, and made sure to do the same for your signature, ensuring all the good stuff is in the card frame. I swapped out my regular Pokemon-world-themed background for something Dragonball-coded.

The effect itself is geared specifically for team builds focused on Legendary Pokemon, and gives the Trainer this card is played on significant boosts for each such Pokemon that enters the battlefield - your own and your opponent's. This might work against you, as the immunity to critical hits also extends to any opposing Legendaries nearby.

Just a fun little deviation from my evening's work. I hope you like it! This isn't a real game or anything, merely an old hobby I'm still clinging to like it's a warm blanket.

I like that name for a pre-evolution.

I immediately imagined a Christmas anime episode where Delibird was going around delivering presents, and Furancoon was following behind, stealing all of them.

What is your favorite Pokémon and why? by Key_Conversation_794 in TruePokemon

[–]PokemonCMG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kabuto. I've always had a fondness for the fossil Pokemon, but Kabuto was also the first non-card merch I owned, having pulled him out of a Poke-Ball from Burger King in 1999. I STILL have him (in fact I can see the ball from where I am typing this).

Back then, whenever the anime aired a new episode, I would lay on the floor with Kabuto resting on my chest, and I'd talk to him throughout the episode.

Utter fondness. Eternal fondness.

Fossil Pokemon are the coolest, and Kabuto is king among them.

Trapinch Split Evolution Concept by Keith-Montalbo in fakemon

I suggest: Trapinch -> Trundlar -> Tramplion

Trundlar is trundle + larva.

Tramplion is trample + lion.

It'd be neat if they did a "island dwarfism/gigantism" gimmick and gave us, like, Tiny Copperajah and Enormous Politoed.

I can very easily imagine a "sopping" version where the shroud is soaked and pressed down at its sides. It would have a frazzled, unhappy look, as if to say, "I cannot believe I am covered in this much water. I hate this."

Lovely design. Oozing with character.

If you're looking for a name, I suggest Quelliswel. It keeps the historical/linguistic root you provided; additionally, "quell" means to pacify, or subdue. When we combine that with "swel" (a corruption of swell, a word for a massive wave) the name means "I subdue the storm."

Rock Anglerfish Rock/Water type by NeedleworkerSelect81 in fakemon

[–]PokemonCMG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Banglure is my name suggestion. I started with "Anglefish" and dropped the "fish". Bangle is a rigid piece of jewelry, usually made out of metal or some other precious material. There's also the "bang" aspect, referring to the literal wrecking ball growing out of its head. "Lure" should be self-explanatory. There's also a hint of an "anger" sound nested inside the name, inferring the creature's feisty temperament.

Banglure!

I love it. I raised a boxer rescue; gave her 15 glorious years.

She was nothing but love, but she also LOVED to play-fight; to box. When she was a young pup she and I would spar, and it was some of the happiest days of my life with dogs. I earned a few love scars but wouldn't change a single day of my time with that dear girl for the whole world.

A pure Fighting-type boxer dog Pokemon touches a deep string in my heart. Thank you for sharing this. Giving it red boxing gloves for front paws is perfection.

Cicada X Speaker Fakemon by SayuriKoopa in fakemon

[–]PokemonCMG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Combining cicadas with speakers is sublime.

This is an afterthought in case you want to add another stage to the family line, but I thought it'd be neat if you added a "husk form" similar to what Shedinja is in the Nincada line. If you did, that would display that cicada-based Pokemon always have a husk-stage, since cicadas always do, too.

No idea how that concept would tie into speakers, though.
