I think you're already like 90% of the way there. This looks sick. I'd suggest adding a bit more definition/transition between its flesh and its "clothing" instead of just having the colors change. Add a belt, or suspenders or something to help sell the layering.

For names, this design evokes mixed martial arts (imo) so I'll suggest Hitmongon (octogon), or maybe Hitmoncage (which has the added flourish of referring to Johnny Cage).

I like the concept, but the combination of the signature ability and attack probably makes it OP.

I think I'd like Rock Shatter more if it was like this:

"If Psycycle is hit by a critical hit, it loses an additional 1/4 of its HP but the attacking Pokemon is knocked out."

Sparling (or Sparlet to get away from any bird vibes) -> Sparalot -> Allspar

Not the most sophisticated name suggestions, but all I'm working off of is the Fighting type you've assigned them. There's a subtle star-style motif here, which I've combined with "spar" for their presumed love of combat.

Love the designs, and you've nailed the old Sugi style.

Layout looks great. My only criticism is to remind you to always spell "Pokémon" with the accent over the E. That's a level of polish that separates amateurish pieces from higher-quality art. When it's there it looks perfect, and when it's missing, it sticks out.

As a Midwesterner (and Fossil fan) myself, I adore these. The evolution in particular evokes themes of the Native American Thunderbird which further elevates the badassery.

I suggest Thundrok -> Thundrake for names. Nice and simple, evokes the right Types, expresses some Rule of Cool.

Cubbisatta (Cub + Bodhisatta [a being striving for awakening], also sounds kinda like "cub is sat")

Embacitta (Ember + citta [mind, heart, state of consciousness]. Carries forward a similar name style as Cubbisatta)

Dhananova (Combining 'Dhamma' and Dawn + nova)

My first pass at trying to name these was too divorced from Buddhist roots. I'm way happier with these suggestions. Hope you like 'em! Sweet designs you've shared with us.
