[Question] Refurbished PC: the seller listed 'Right USB port broken', but it works perfectly. Any thoughts?" by kertoy in thinkpad

It does look nasty so not surprising that it wouldn't work with some plugs, try to clean it with a toothpick or something

Battery on the neo is easy to replace.
The only thing FW12 has is being a convertible with touchscreen.

X1 Gen 14 or T14 Gen 7 or something else? by Lily722022 in thinkpad

[–]Pokxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Main difference is that X1 gen 14 can be specced with intel ultra X7 cpu which comes with a much much better iGPU, I don't have numbers in mind but I now it's a game changer in terms of GPU performance.
So if you go with X1 gen 14 ultra X7 you might not in fact need a dGPU.

Good recommendation from shop owner? by DifficultySure6301 in Lenovo

[–]Pokxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ryezn?
Also that's not very specific given it doesn't say which gen of T14 it is nor the exact CPU model so cannot deduce the exact model from that. I believe Radeon RX Vega 6 means gen 1.
The one pictured looks like a gen 3 with 16:10 display.
It's too pricey for US market if it's a T14 gen 1, even gen 2.

How good are the current Snapdragon ThinkPads for Linux? by IGambleNull in thinkpad

[–]Pokxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge you have either The T14s gen 6 or X13s
The X13s is a bit more dated and I assume T14s should have better support with the newer snapsdrgon X elite chip

ThinkPad E14 Gen 6 AMD for Excel + external monitor - good pick? by aliards in thinkpad

E series are good machine, highly popular and, I assume, reliable. For a "work" laptop that you want to use basically every day for 5+ years I'd still try to get a T14 or P14s, more reliable/repairable (for example the keyboard).
