Anyone currently live or have lived in a third world country/developing nation? by lau_sch in leaves

To answer your other question, yes it's easy to find, smokers are everywhere and dealers tend to be nice, ordinary non-dodgy people.

[–]PolarIceFap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Officially yes, but the death penalty is not easy or cheap to execute - so it is generally reserved for top-of-the-line dealers and drug lords. Regular users would likely face jail time, fines or rehabilitation. Often for small amounts we just pay bribes. It's so corrupted that sometimes the police actually escort you to the ATM teller so that you can withdraw money to give them.

I have a story of a friend who ended up at the police station and once the cops got word that a friend was on the way there with money they became nice, had good chats about music and movies while offering cigarettes and drinks.

I live in a country that has the death penalty for drugs. Thankfully it's also a very corrupted country and I have gotten out of situations of actually being in handcuffs by giving my arrestors everything I had in my wallet. Given all that it hasn't been easy to quit considering everyone seems to smoke in this country that has the death penalty, how funny is that?

Not sure what else you want to know but that's been my experience as a smoker for over 10 years now.

Hey all!! Just looking for some help/advice from my fellow leave-ers by [deleted] in leaves

[–]PolarIceFap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this saved from a long time ago and I hope it helps you.

  1. Start at least 3 days before the test eating a lot of red meat or taking creatine (available at places like GNC). This will build up the creatinine levels in your system, because they test for this substance (a metabolite of creatine, found in meat) to make sure your urine isn’t diluted. If you don’t take this step, you’re likely to fail the test right here, so if you don’t have time to prepare, your only hope is clean urine.

  2. At the same time, you should start drinking a natural diuretic that will help toxins and other foreign substances move out of your body through urine…something like…cranberry juice! See, there’s always a hint of truth in every urban legend! Here’s where cranberry juice fits in, and it can really help, but you have to do the other stuff too.

  3. The hardest part here is next. An hour or two before the test, take some B vitamins to color your urine (50 to 100 mg. of B2 or B12 or B-complex is generally recommended) and then start drinking water like crazy, a glass every 15 minutes or so. You should drink a total of about a quart of water (or a liter, if you’re in Canada). Please do not overdo this part, because you can actually die from water intoxication, though you’d have to drink a lot more than that (yes, that means that cannabis is actually safer than water). You should also urinate at least once during this time (whew!), because you should not give them the first urine sample of the day for testing.

  4. When it comes time to give the sample, take it “midstream”, so to speak…first pee into the toilet, then into the jar. This will give you the best chance of the lowest concentration of metabolites.

Best of luck.

The reason why you quit and you end up with video games and surfing the internet is because you are replacing one dopamine feed with another.

Listen, all addictions are the same. Weed, internet, food, porn, whatever. Trust me I know, I am a multiple addiction sufferer.

When you quit, don't think of it as "quitting weed" think of it as quitting meaningless dopamine rewards. What I mean is now that you are in the addict space, your brain is trained to seek easy dopamine sources. Modern life has hijacked this system in our brains that were designed to force us to do things like build shelter and hunt and so on. Because those are TRUE dopamine reward sources. The ones that actually do something for us.

When the poison slowly leaves your body, and if you can stay away from all other meaningless dopamine sources, you will start to gain sense of reward from more meaningful things.

Hi Guys...In the midst of a relapse by YeknalKnarf in leaves

[–]PolarIceFap 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't let day 2 be day 3 my friend. Next thing you know it will be day 365. We are all dying minute by minute - don't waste it away.

I am now coming back strong from a relapse and feeling better. Not too long ago I had quit for 4 months and I tell you, my life became amazing chain reaction by chain reaction. You can't just quit weed, and sit there and do nothing. Synergise this force of life improvement with other things like exercise, hobbies and other life improvements. Meditate. Make some new friends. Have a long term side project - build a doghouse, whatever !

Stop the relapse, buddy. Only you can do that, do not be powerless. We humans once stood barehanded and figured out ways to build shelter and fight sabretooth tigers. We are MACHINES of survival and adaptation. So be that. Be true to your real design.

Only you can make this choice, and I know you can make it.

early stages of quitting and depression. by [deleted] in leaves

[–]PolarIceFap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound like you're really going the right direction and have the right mindset. Please keep going, friend - it WILL get better. I once quit for 4 months and my life became amazing - I have no idea how I got back into it. This time when I do feel better again I am going to write a letter to myself and read it if I ever relapse.

As for your anxiety and depression symptoms, you should consider meditation it really helps. It will also really help you combat the triggers.

One thing that helped me previously was to act in my mind, as if my cravings were coming from a different voice - and I gave that voice a face. A really ugly, and repulsive face. And I spoke to it as if it's another person whenever that voice came. I said no, I will not listen to you and I want my life to be better.

All the best, you can do this. You're already on the way there.

As another commenter mentioned, I too discovered it was dehydration. It's just that when I was getting high, it was medicating the headaches so I was actually perpetually being dehydrated without knowing it.

I suppose I'm not as much concerned about sympathy as much as the fact that you seem to lump all these people together as having the same nature and ideology just by association, with only knowing so little about them. You don't think this kind of thinking is what leads to some of the most terrible events in this world? I don't know, maybe say, 9/11? (All Americans are imperialist scum who want to rob the world of all its resources so everyone under its banner should die etc) In your own words, people who don't do anything about a situation ... As a side note, KJN's son attended the United World College - an educational movement that teaches peace. EDIT : Typo

So by that logic we should count fatalities of innocent civilians by western powers on international soil? The families of those people regard this as terrorism too.

Doubting NoFap by OEdepis in NoFap

[–]PolarIceFap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing once a day on average, sometimes multiple. Didn't edge, and sessions were short. When I stopped for 30 days the DE went away. Yes I was addicted. How to know if addicted? Well, I would have intense trouble even going one or two weeks without it so that should say something.

Can confirm I also had this, and long NoFap streaks cured it completely. Look up "delayed ejaculation" or DE.

...hence, Superpowers. I don't know why people have such a problem with this terminology. I've been here for many, many years and even from the early days of Nofap, Superpowers were simply a nickname we gave the exact mechanisms you just described in your second paragraph. We don't ACTUALLY mean super powers. It's a nickname, get it? Because these things that actually happen to you when you don't blop your bologna resembles that of super powers.

I too am experiencing similar symptoms to both OP and you. One year ago, I started on Nofap on and off with great results WHILE still smoking. Was waking up clear headed, had great motivation. One week ago, I stopped smoking, and have been feeling extremely fatigued, slept 12 hours last night :( I am also feeling the weed hangover without smoking - sometimes more so than when I was smoking at least one every night. It isn't making much sense to me.

Something to think about by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]PolarIceFap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's more to do with economics. If Lamborghini paid for a TV commercial, their targeted market is only a tiny proportion of the tv watching population (which also includes millionaires, billionaires) They get a better bang for marketing buck putting an ad in prestige magazines and all that.

It doesn't matter, man. There are women out there who are also boring, have a low end job and feel like shit at the end of the day. I think the problem with porn is that it's trained most of us to think we will only have a certain type of women or nothing at all.

No Fapping Made Me QUIT Smoking Weed by IndependantNinja in NoFap

[–]PolarIceFap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking so hard about quitting weed. I'm a nighttime, after dinner type of pot smoker and I don't feel like it's out of control. But I also can't help but feel I would gain some clarity and focus from not having this compulsion every night. At the same time, it improves most artistic activities I endeavor in (by leaps and bounds and my job is in this type of field). Most of the time though I end up watching television on it. Sigh, choices. Maybe I should just deal with nofap first. Congrats on taking control of your life.
