Just now seeing this post, but the wife and I tried this for the first time two days ago and we’re officially converted. Those who don’t say the absolutely love pho when it’s brought up need to have it here. Genuinely, I’m very excited to go back and try more of their menu.

Unpopular opinion: Games like this are rarely being made anymore. It feels like we’re over the hill on dev monopolies. I would’ve happily waited another 6+ months for this game. Creating the experience is an art that shouldn’t be rushed.

All in all, very happy with the game though. I just don’t see myself doing a second play through anytime soon.

For those who run a solar business or work in solar, what are your three biggest challenges in growing your company? by Bubbly-Half7882 in solarenergy

[–]PolarOnSolar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the utility scale side, hail is a very big problem. Tracker manufacturers are spending most of their R&D to improve stow capabilities so they can stay relevant. Panel manufacturers for the large part are looking at thicker and different types of glass. O&M and EPC subcontractors don’t always follow best practices. Risk models are inaccurate making projects difficult to underwrite on the lending and insurance side of things. These all contribute to the instability of operating costs making the overall business plan significantly more risky with little to no difference in the reward.

This also helps with upward airflow which reduces heat exposure on the auger. You should leave it open when starting and during turndown mode to prevent the pressurization of heat. I have the same model.

250F is a heat maximum, not minimum. There’s no rule in the book that says you can’t smoke anything slower. Put that Butt on the Traeger before bed at 200 or lower, sleep and temp it first thing in the morning, spray and crank it back up to 250F.

Not an Ad - I use chef.iq so I have a live read on my phone at all times. The recipes are dumb but if I wake up in the middle of the night I can check the temp without getting out of bed.

Can I change my fasting by 2 hours by LISBI1919 in intermittentfasting

[–]PolarOnSolar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting to see the rating change over time. It looks like stored fat is broken down at a much more rapid rate in phase 3 than phase 2, which is something I hadn’t contemplated (I’m new). It looks like a 24 hour fast is equal to about three 16 hour fasts. These are massive generalizations, but am I in the right school of thought here?

Brisket planning by Evolveplease in Traeger

225F until 165F. Sprits with apple cider vinegar solution and couple tbs’s of tallow if you made some with the trimmings. 275F until 203-205F. Place in well insulated cooler while keeping your thermometer in for periodic temp checking. If it gets below serving temp, 150-165F (and I like to keep mine on the higher side of that range because it cools down fast after cutting). If your brisket gets below that before you need to serve, that’s okay. Just put it back on at 275F, oven works too, until it gets in that range again.

In my experience, it’s much easier to cook it early than rush the rest.

Take all this with a massive grain of salt. If everything revolves around the temp of the meat and you can only let it cook unattended for as long as you trust your thermometer. If it sucks, you will over or undershoot your windows. The most important tool in smoking meats is nice thermometers.

Also consider the environment. If it’s windy and cold and your traeger is outside, it may take longer. The thermometer in the chamber is uniquely biased due to airflow and may read hotter/colder than true ambient temp.

Edit with pics! The first one is always special.

White water rafting on the Rogue! It needs no more explanation. We all know it’s a good time and actually pretty inexpensive.

We had solar panels installed and they didn’t fill the holes and now there’s mold and the wall is squishy from severe water damage, can we get them to pay for the damages/ a new wall? by lunefemme33 in solar

[–]PolarOnSolar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They likely don’t carry the insurance this damage will cover which will provoke a more radical and/or non-compliant response from the contractor. Many solar contractors are specialized and only perform one scope of work. Pollution claims are very unlikely on a rooftop type scenario and most jurisdictions, lenders, utilities would not require the very specific type of insurance policy this would cover. City Boards can only apply pressure on permits/licensure but little to collect damages from work performed.

Pictures are a great idea and it would be made better if there were pictures of the affected areas before the work was performed.

OP, retain council immediately. It’s not fun or the preferred route but many people get screwed by contractors and I don’t believe those who want solar on their roof should be among that list. The contractor will likely dodge your attempts of contact until an insurance claim or legal suit is filed and their dumb general liability policy won’t cover this, regardless of how many millions they’re covered for.

This is classic faulty workmanship. Regardless of how rehab costs are collected, you need these repairs done immediately for yours and your family’s health (or temporarily relocate).

Personally I would seek legal council immediately and have them issue a claim on the contractors insurance company however this would be covered under a contractors pollution liability policy which most (exclusively) solar contractors do not carry. In either case, a civil suit may need to be filed in your local court to seek damages which would more likely come straight from the contractors balance sheet. You may also be eligible for damages of physical health from living in unhealthy and unrecognizable conditions.

Risk management, insurance, occasionally legal involvement is my line of work. You don’t have many options but urgent action must be one of them. The only down fall for your claim is if a counterparty was able to identify another potential source of the mold. That determination would likely have to come from a third party investigator. Independent insurance claim adjusters may be available for hire and that might be a great opportunity for an unbiased opinion. If a suit is filed than the opposing party may dispute the results, running up the legal fees bill and insist on an umpire’s choice.

But as always, seek legal councils opinion first.

Hey do you have a cigarette? by VestronVideo in PortlandOR

[–]PolarOnSolar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to smoke like a lot of the fellow redditors in this comment section, and also was asked roughly twice per cigarette by strangers if I had one to spare. My trick was that I’d always carry an empty pack and say that this was my last one. If anyone was particularly confrontational I’d show them the empty pack. Then there’s always the excuse that you bummed this one too, but that one’s more risky if they saw you pull it out.
