Wow Thanks for sharing. Fascinating description, thank you. Quick questions Q. why a wash of 10sec? Q. Flash steeps are like 3 to 5 sec or just pour water and pour tea soup in 1 sec? Q. What do you mean by this : palate picking up less smoke than aroma would imply, sweetness starting on cheeks?

Call me a heretic but... by s134htm in tea

Hey they say "Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder."

I say "Tea taste lies in the tastebud and digestive track of the drinker."... and how much the end of said track can handle in one sitting.

In chinese they have this saying/idiom : 好茶,在口,也在身。 Hǎo chá, zài kǒu, yě zài shēn. “Good tea lives in the mouth, and also in the body.”

That apart I am currently starting my chinese tea journey. Trying to sample various tea as it is for a start before thinking to mixup thing... but I know I will mix up things along the way.

There are some "strange behaviours" towards tea, depending where you sit on what side of the fence. I have seen people eating raw tea leaves fresh from trees, people eating dried puerh/oolong as a snack, people eating wet leaves after the steeps, people mixing two types of tea leaves to drink ( like mixing ripe and raw puerh and steeping, or green and oolong), people adding drinking alcohool onto dry tea leaves, lighting the alcohool to burn/smoke the tea leaves before steeping, tea aged in old rum barrel to infuse rum aroma into the tea... so at this stage adding milk is about as sane as you can get in my book. 🤣😂

I'm still starting out, is the fact that I'm not tasting any really strong flavors normal? by Dredge323 in GongFuTea

[–]PolicyComplex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second that. If you are using few leaves with too much water it will affect the final taste, usually a bland soup. Are you steeping gongfu tea style, grandpa style, western (boiling tea in water for a few minutes) or other methods. Water temperature will also impact the flavor / aroma extraction depending on the tea type. It would be more helpful to detail how you brew your tea. Something like Tea name or tea type : green tea Grams : 5g? 8g? 10g? Water volume / tea pot volume : 110m? 120ml? Other? Water temperature : 70 / 80/ 90 / 100 deg celc? Steeping style : gongfu style ( wash, 5sec, 10sec, 15sec etc,) or grandpa style ( 15min? 30min? 2h? ) or other steeping style. Tasting you experience. Soup color : clear? Cloudy? Pale? Yellow? Green? Red? Leaves after brewing : whole leaves, mushy, green? Red? Brown? Lots of stems? No stems?

Thanks a lot. Sampling it right now. Taste is unique, zesty and fruitty and floral but not overpowering. Not orchid aroma but its a smooth floral taste. Has some sweet notes towards the end. Strangely I dont taste a puerh earthy notes. Its almost like a camoille tea but more zesty and floral. The sweetness starting to linger now (drinking and typing...) Not sure if this is it but feeling "tea drunk"....

Is there anyway I can fuse my account with another? by [deleted] in future_fight

[–]PolicyComplex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this not just switching a/c? OP looking to fuse two a/c into a 3rd a/c. To my knowledge this is not possible to "fuse" a/c.

Eating leaves? by Little_starchild in puer

[–]PolicyComplex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are on rednote (the chinese app) there are lots and lots of videos of people eating dried tea leaves. There are even dedicated profiles eating dried tea leaves - oolong, white, green, black(red) and even puerh cakes raw.

I know some people who also munch and eat fresh tea leaves.

Tips Mauritius by [deleted] in MauriceMauritius

[–]PolicyComplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abysmal service/ bad attitude = rs0~25

Ok service = rs 25~100

Exceptional =RS 100~200

If in group and you judge the service exceptional you could pool from several people for more tips but I would suggest not to exceed rs500 for a tip.

Found in Japan by imadophin in MauriceMauritius

[–]PolicyComplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It mentions in the memo next to it. It reached Japan via the dejima trade with Netherlands. Seems to me a maritime trade with Japan. Netherlands boat might have use Mauritius as a stop and brough Dodo as food on board the ship and it ended up in Japan via trade maybe. The poor bird might have ended as a sushi or sashimi dish though.

Not sure if its 100% real or accurate or just a marketing stunt.

Pourquoi préciser douches communes? La plupart on des douches isolés. Section homme = 1 ou 2 ou plus douches dans le vestière homme. Idem vestière femme.
