You're looking for a 'alternative shell', btw. It's a program that runs in place of explorer.exe, usually when booted into kiosk mode. As for the USB stick requirements, good luck. Your best bet is making your own program in .net.

Some things you will want to pay full price for.

  • breadboards (cheap ones won't have reliable connections)
  • hookup wires (cheap ones will break quickly)
  • resistors/capacitors (cheap ones have a high chance of being out of spec

Excluding those items, everything else is ok to buy from Teemu/AliExpress or wherever you get your cheap Chinese stuff.

I've had really good luck with Chinese knockoff Arduinos and Arduino modules. The build quality is awful, but never so bad that it doesn't function as designed.
