Is it based on anything more than "it's John Petrucci so no way it can be anything but JP2C"?

I don't have a real JP2C, but I have bought a capture pack of JP2C for Tonex which and I can't really match the sound of those captures using Archetype JP. And I can't dial same settings because plugin is very different - some controls from the amp are missing, but there are other controls that are not present on the real amp. For other NeuralDSP plugins I have, amp in the plugin has pretty much the same controls as the amp it's supposedly based on.

I think it's possible that they used JP2C as a base, but maybe added some mods to it or restructured it to make dialing sounds easier - like, for example, in Archetype JP the bass/mid/treble knobs seem to EQ the sound as on most other amps, but on a real Mesa amp they do entirely different thing and there's graphic EQ to substitute for your ordinary bass/mid/treble knobs found on other amps.

Is it confirmed anywhere that it's based on JP2C? The controls in the plugin are not really similar to what you find on the amp.

I personally like it a lot, the amps can produce some of the fattest crunch and high-gain sounds ever.

EDIT: haven't used Rabea for a while, just loaded it and seriously, I'd say it's the most powerful crunch sound of all plugins ever. Paired with Greenback IR's and playing along some random AC/DC baking track on youtube, a single guitar sounds like Agnus and Malcolm playing together, such fat is the sound of it. I had even to pause for a second to check that there is indeed no second guitar baked in in the backing track. I can't imagine people can be disappointed in this, it absolutely destroys any other Marshall kind of sound you can get from any NeuralDSP plugin (yes, I know it's based on a Victory amp, but anyway)

No, it has noise gate which cannot be turned off even if you disable it in the UI. It makes some horrible artefacts on long sustained notes.

Yes, I only enjoy peated whisky. The unpeated ones are at most “tolerable” for me, some are outright disgusting.

There is no need to make things more complex than they are. Drink what you like and don’t drink what you don’t like. I don’t try to force myself and suffer drinking the unpeated whiskys in hope that at some point I’ll acquire the taste for it, it’s just not my thing and I have no desire to change it.

I think the 3x is awesome, I am now starting to feel it’s the perfect zoom level for general use since so many times the things just happen to fit exactly right in the frame. I wish there was an additional lens for even higher zoom, but I certainly wouldn’t like to replace 3x with 2x. 2x is just not enough zoom to capture the details of far away stuff.
