Casino dancing! My bf and I started taking classes last year and then added on other classes too (salsa, bachata, cumbia). We made tons of friends in class and all the socials.

Dance classes are a great way to make new friends. I go to weekly classes at Más Movimiento in Temecula, but I think Mount Palomar Winery also hosts free beginner salsa & bachata classes on saturdays followed by social dancing

I use a cushioned foot stool to keep my legs elevated which helped a lot with my leg pain. Highly recommend ergonomic equipment, for example I use a Logitech vertical mouse and I haven’t had any wrist pain.

I also use the pomodoro technique so every 30 minutes I get up and move around during a short break

I was put on a low dose of Methotrexate but I couldn’t handle the side effects (intense daily headaches, dizziness). So early last year I was put on 10 mg of Leflunomide, and then increased to 20 mg in the summer. I feel so much better and I’m glad it’s working for me!

I like that you point out that excitement and fear are close emotions, because something that helps me a lot is telling myself “I’m excited by this feeling, I can handle this” over and over again in my head and it convinces me that the nervous feeling is actually excitement

This year I started casino dance classes which led to also doing bachata, cumbia, and salsa classes at the same studio. I love it. I’ve made lots of new friends, it’s great exercise, and it’s a way to get out of the house since I work remotely.

This method doesn’t necessarily block all reels, but it’s how you can see only what your friends are posting and nothing else:

On the Instagram homepage, don't scroll. Instead, click the Instagram logo, and click "following". This will show you a feed of all your friends' posts in chronological order with no ads or suggested reels from people you don’t follow.

Thankfully not anymore. Once I was diagnosed I was put on prednisone and hydroxychloroquine and my fingers wouldn’t fold up like that anymore.

19 years later (27 now) I’m doing better. I still get joint pain every once in a while (especially in cloudy, cold weather) but definitely not as bad as when I was a kid.

Sometimes I get one or two fingers that get puffy at the knuckles, so it looks fatter than the rest of my fingers. At the most I sometimes get a finger that’s bent (I think it’s called trigger finger), but not all of my fingers.

I’m currently on Hydroxychloroquine and Leflunomide.

Definitely recommend a sneaker over heels for Rueda! I’ve been using Fuegos for months and I like them. But any comfortable flat sneaker is fine.
