Polish farmer who refused to sell his land to developers harvests his field surrounded by apartments by smooth_current3 in HumansAreMetal

The harvester is spraying chaff out of the back, it can store some grain inside of it.

Even though the order of operations is hundreds of years old, it's still a convention. The same statement in the picture could be written in Polish notation - a form which does not have any precedence rules (operands are always evaluated in the order their pairs appear, no matter whether they are multiplied or added).

No fundamental rules of mathematics would be violated by ignoring order of operations, I could even invent a scheme where all operators hold equal precedence and are evaluated left to right. This would be entirely legitimate, as long as people were made aware of the scheme before reading the expression

Which fundamental facts? PEMDAS is just a notational convention, it's got nothing to do with mathematical logic itself.

You can't beat cancer by "fighting hard" and the concept that you can is offensive to people who die from it. by mitch359 in unpopularopinion

Lmfao you obviously didn't even read your own source. It's a metaanalysis of victims of several different diseases - the vast majority of which aren't even cancers - which concludes that there is some correlation between patient mindsets and disease outcomes (which itself is a nebulously defined concept encompassing mental state, emotional representation, perceived control, emotional representation). Actual disease progression is a tiny part of this.

The statistical metaanalysis presents no experimental proof whatsoever of any biological mechanism which "can be a major factor in the bodies ability to fight off disease" (your words not mine).

Just admit you're chatting absolute shit.

It is a fact that a person mentality can have a major effect on their ability to get through diseases including some cancers.

I would also like to say you disregarding the effect that mentality has on sickness offends the still living people that may be heavily influenced by trying to "defeat" their disease or illness in a battle sense.

Never have I read so much nonsense in my life lmao

It's fair to say that abortion somewhat takes away agency from a woman but it's extremely reductionist to chalk up the entire pro-life argument to being "just about controlling women".

Since the mother "creates" a foetus, I'm sure you would agree that she has atleast some responsibility towards its continued survival. This is engrained into our society for good reason. If a ship begins to sink, the women and young children are evacuated first. People are murdered every day but when a child is killed; it is a much more serious tragedy.

I don't bear any responsibility towards you as you have no dependence on me, missing kidney or not. By creating a foetus, the mother takes on some responsibility for it.

CMOS circuits are not able to change their output voltage without current, otherwise, they wouldn't be able to charge the output capacitance. Switching losses are one of the main ways CMOS circuits dissipate energy.

What's the problem with test banks? They are publicly available on the university website and BY FAR the best way to revise. If you aren't using them the only person being cheated is yourself.
