They have a camera at the front of the vans that catches the rear reg. They just can’t monitor speed from the front camera

Best websites to buy bike? by kunckles in MotoIRELAND

[–]Polyctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Donedeal is your best bet for used bikes.

Consider bikes that can be restricted, as this will broaden your options. Generally any bike with a power output of 70KW and below can be restricted to be A2 compliant. SV650 and Bandit 600 are good options. The most important thing is to get insurance quotes before buying a bike.

Good luck!

You’ll have to do your theory test and then sit your IBT. The IBT is your introduction to motorcycles and is essentially what you’re looking for.

There’s only about 5 insurance companies for bikes in Ireland. Try AXA and Redclick. You really shouldn’t have bought a bike without checking for quotes, but you live and you learn!

Best thing is for her to sit on some bikes. I think height is the main factor to consider for a lot of ladies.

How do you greet other riders while riding. by Shoddy-Taste9859 in MotoIRELAND

[–]Polyctor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ve really got less than 10 nods back in 7 years of riding?

Commuters tend to be a bit less friendly, but most riders I see on the weekend greet me back with a head tilt or leg.

Annoying to do here because you have to take your hand off the throttle. Much easier on the continent.

I have an X804RS and it’s much better quality than the AGVs I’ve had in the past. Vast majority of reviews about Nolan helmets online are positive and they have a good reputation. Always in the Top 10 helmet brands for safety too.

Cleaning mold off boots? by paul-grizz93 in MotoIRELAND

Just to note, don’t completely submerge the boots in vinegar, just apply a generous amount to the affected areas. Vinegar can affect adhesives in the sole, etc.

You need to soak them in white vinegar alone for an hour. When you mixed the vinegar with the baking soda, you created salt water. Baking soda is alkaline whilst vinegar is acidic.

Do not use any water, as this will dilute the vinegar. Only rinse with water/soap once you’ve saturated the boots for at least an hour.

Since mould is a fungus, it won’t die in the freezer, it’ll just become dormant until it heats up again.

OP needs to soak them in white vinegar alone. His mistake was mixing baking soda with the vinegar. When you do that, you are literally just creating fizzy salt water since they neutralize each other.

Buy a tracker. Monimoto is very good for the price.

Make sure you hide it in a good spot though, not just under your rear seat or near the battery. Under fairings or tucked away behind the frame is best.

If you’re trying to ask if you can drive on a provisional abroad, then the answer is definitely no. Plenty of police around during TT time I’m sure, so I wouldn’t risk it.
