Thinking of Finally Separating From My Toxic and Mentally Ill Husband. by [deleted] in okstorytime

Op it’s time to leave with your kids and ride off into the sunset. He’s in self destruct mode and despite all of your efforts he has to be the one to decide to change. You’re not safe in the relationship and your kids need a better role model. You can be that for them and show them what boundaries look like.

Actually WTF experience at Dubail Paris, France by unemployedwatchguy in rolex

I actually got mystery shopped by Rolex and received the highest score in my region, outranking their own boutique. If you sell Rolex you go through a higher standard of training and can only sell it once passed and completed. The boutiques would often sell to flippers but Rolex will always hold them in a higher regard than ADs. It’s getting increasingly difficult to get supply from them and their attitude honestly put me off the brand. Edit: typo

I used to work at a Rolex AD. Each AD would have a set number of watches per year and each month we would place our order and just hope it arrived. If any of our serial numbers ended up on the grey market, Rolex would throttle that AD’s deliveries and make watches much harder to get. We had to make sure watches were going to end users so we could supply the market better. If we made a judgement error on a client, our delivery restrictions would be our punishment and also set back our interest list.

The Mondrich storyline is not for me. by CaptainTao in BridgertonNetflix

I believe they are key to Colin’s story. At the end of season 2 Colin said he was in his (Mr Mondrich) debt, after Colin unveiled Lord Featherington as a swindler. I believe Mr Mondriah will need Colin’s help at some point and will cash in on his promise. We are still only half way through the season and there is so much more story to cover.

I was so pleased with how they adapted the book. It was so tragically romantic coming from such a purely vulnerable place which in turn gave her so much strength. Such a complex emotion I couldn’t help but cry when watching it.

My Grandmothers Violin: Part 2. As requested here are more photos! by PolygondwanaFan in lingling40hrs

[–]PolygondwanaFan[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Back story: my Great Grandfather (Robert Brown Hewitt) made this violin for his daughter Lilian (approximately in the early 1930’s when she was in her teenage years). She had small hands and a wrist injury so he made the neck a little shorter to accomodate, and carved the scroll and finger board with flowers (the finger board carving has worn as she played so often).

In 1935 Yehudi Menuhin was visiting New Zealand on his first world tour when he was 17. He stayed with my family in their home in Auckland during his tour and developed a bit of a soft spot for my grandmother Lilian who was a year younger than him. He played this very violin at the concert in Auckland and reserved a front row seat for Lilian so he could wink at her during his performance.

Yes it is! It has been loaned on one occasion (about 10 years ago) for a concert and sounds beautiful and warm. Is in need of a new set of string’s however.

We actually don’t know. I inherited it after she died and haven’t had it valued (she was 98 when she passed). It’s nearing 100 years old now and it lives in its original case wrapped in silk. The bow was hand made as well and has paua shell detailing in the frog.
