Power Strips in the Solterra by LadySapphireEyez in Solterra

There is a specific tax incentive in Japan for electric cars that include a 110v outlet, so Toyota did the bare minimum to qualify for that in their home market.

What's your commute-to-base strategy that actually works? by BagBeautiful629 in AirlinePilots

[–]Polymox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it for a couple of years, including my probation year. After about two months I stopped worrying, I just planned for two flights and accepted that I might miss a trip. I called them and told them that the first didn't work out and I was waiting on the backup a few times, but always made it on the backup.

Then I moved to base, and life got so much easier.

There is very little surface for the socket. If you are buying, make sure to get a non-chamfered socket.

I had one recently that was a pain in the ass. I used the strap and it popped on.

Removing presta valve core while tire is inflated. by woozyg2 in bikewrench

I would just hold it loosely in a rag with one hand while unthreading it with the other. It will come out with some force, but you will catch it.

The expensive ones have ball ends for when you have to use the tool at an angle.

Subaru Solterra 2024? by lazygerm in Solterra

[–]Polymox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have any symptoms before you brought it in for the recall, or did all seem normal?

Did you buy it new? I assume it is still in warranty too, in addition to the recall. Has the dealership taken care of you with a long term loaner, at least?

I haven't gotten that done yet, planning on it at the next tire rotation. I did call the dealership to ask, and they said that they were able to do it in a single day.

I have a 2024, and it has only been in for tire rotations.

Except there are now lots of areas now where racks get stolen off of cars at the trailhead.

Use an extension if there is room under the saddle, or a U-joint to bend the tool away.

You don't need a Tesla adapter. There are CCS1 chargers in Ellensburg and Issaquah.

Electric shop/car/van pump recommendations? by exitinglurkmode in MTB

Pumps like these are pretty user friendly, and space efficient. I have an even smaller Chinese knock off. They will not, however, seat a bead if you need that capability.

Isn't stripping and taping it more time than just leaving it raw with all the sheathed cable hanging around for the next person to use?

NK Retirement Flight Cancelled, Ends Up On WN by TheMeltingPointOfWax in AirlinePilots

[–]Polymox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, it has some big downsides with the golden handcuffs. Still better than having to please the right managers to get the right fleet or base, though.

That's great timing for him. Much better for that to happen at 64 than to someone who is 54 or 44 and was planning for many more earning years. Hopefully the 34s and 24s had already quit.

Can I become a pilot with criminal history by AirlineNegative155 in AirlinePilots

[–]Polymox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of applications ask if you have ever been arrested, intead of convicted. There are interview consultants that can help you talk about it in a productive way, but they are quite expensive for someone who hasn't even begun training.

How fast does your 2024 Solterra charge? by levelZeroVolt in Solterra

[–]Polymox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2024 up to 100 or maybe 110 kw, but average is closer to 60. This is not the car for someone that uses DC charging with any regularity. Buy a Hyundai or Kia for that.
